My niece saw this in a magazine, Had her Grandma call me to ask if I could make it, with only saying It was a rubber ducky in a bathtub.
That was just about the time I found this site. So I don't remember who's it was, But Thanks! I used the homemade gel for the water, the rest is buttercream.

Nothing celebrates a 4 year old birthday like a party duck in a basket! Although my basketweave leaves something to be desired...

This is a cake for a baby shower. I made a buttercream with a combination of Italian Meringue and Creme Anglaise. You can find it in The Cake Bible. It takes a bit of work, but pipes wonderfully. The design for this cake was inspired by one of Colette Peters cakes, seen on her website. I used a Wilton Candy mold for the ducks. The bow and ribbons are sugar paste.

All iced in buttercream. Small duck is a "smash cake" for the birthday boy that I stuck on the cake, thinking it'd look cute there. Its a mini ball with a donut hole for a head. I'll just have to warn mom about the toothpick inside.

THIS WAS INSPIRED BY A CAKE BY CAKEASYOULIKEIT. Thank you!! It's all buttercream except for the duckies. I made those from fondant. The top tier will be the "smash cake" for the little girl who is turning one.

This is my first try with gum paste. It is heavy! Over the course of the day, the Kids (my twin nieces) really started to tip to the back. Other really DUMB DUMB idea was to use jell-o! The gumpaste obviously started to melt!! STUPID, STUPID Idea!! Well, you live and learn. Maybe I should actually take a class or something! Anyway, all the family and friends thought it was cool. I really liked the Ivory soap. The lines in the tile messed up during transfer to my sisters house. Thanks for looking!

White cake with BC icing! I was so worried about the duck's head falling off while I was delivering it that I put a skewer in it for support and when I delivered it pulled it out and touched up with more icing!!!!

The bath cake was white cake and buttercream filling. Fondant decorations including the claw feet. This cake is on a wood board (built by my talented hubby) supported by 4 doules cut to 2" and screwed into a larger board cut to look like a puddle of water under the tub. The bubbles are buttercream sprinkled with edible sparkle dust. The smash cake is 5' round carved for the body and 1 1/2 cupcakes carved round for the head. Covered in buttercream with fondant eyes and beak.

Shower cookies for a coworker who is having a baby boy. Cookies are NFSC with royal icing. The chocolate ones are NFSC with dutch cocoa added. The cookies are bite-sized. (These were my first NFSC, and first decorated sugar cookies in almost 20 years.)

These cakes are covered in buttercream. The animals and clothes on the clothesline are made from MMF. This was only my second major order (outside of my family) so I am still learning. There were a lot of mistakes that I made in the process. Hopefully each one will get better.

I did this cake for a double baby shower. The baby ducks were made with the mini ball pan and a marshmellow for the head. The nest is toasted coconut. I also made the little bottle out of marshmellow fondant.

I made these cookies for a friend at work for her daughter's baby shower. She told me at the last minute that she wanted her daughter's name on them so I had to improvise with the wafer paper ribbons. They look ok but I was dissappointed that they took away from some of the designs. Thanks for looking!

I saw a couple of similar designs in the gallery, but I basically ripped
off Swillshaz's design! Swillshaz's was too adorable to even think
about making changes. Thank you for the help too! I was up until
2 am working on this for my nephew's 1st birthday. I had a little
trouble with getting the beak to stay on, but I really liked the way it
came out. I had a hard time cutting it up. This would be cute for a
baby shower too!

First, thank you to DianeLM~ I saw your cake and thought it was perfect for a client of mine! I hope mine does your design justice!
My version of the cake is covered in MMF with chocolate clay ribbon , bubbles (with edible glitter for the glistening effect), and circles.. The rubber duckie was store bought; everything else was edible!

This was for a special shower where the mom was finally-after many years-adopting a newborn. The cake is chocolate with bc icing. I went for the "star" technique because it seemed to be what it needed.
