This is the going away cake that I made- but a much better picture. I forgot that the person was going to Budapest to do some missionary work.

This was a cake for my friend's niece. The invitations had little dragonflies on them and the theme was mostly pink, from there she said she trusted my judgement. They seemed pleased with the cake.

These were so thin and delicate I had to cut them out frozen! I hope nobody ever asks for these for a wedding. I'll go crazy! ha ha

This was for a mad science party. The mom said anything with "cute" bugs. This is what I came up with and they were very happy with it.

Made this cake for a friend's daughter who insisted on a stegosaurus, a mouse and a dragonfly. Everything is sugarpaste - the steg and the "grass" is cake covered in sugarpaste. Made the wings for the dragonfly several times :)

These were made to go with the dragonfly cake that I posted earlier. I had extra cake mix, frosting and dragonflies so I thought I would just make these up. They were able to use one of these for the "smash" cake

These are the first cookies I've ever decorated. I need a lot of practice! I think my flood icing was too thick. Any comments are appreciated.

I borrowed the idea for this cake from Boween (my idol). It's for a school fundraiser cake raffle. Free publicity...YEAH! The frogs, lilly pads, flowers and lilly pads are all MMF and it is iced in buttercream (which I could not get to ice smoothly...ARGH). I don't know if it was the cake recipe I used or what but the cake did not tort very well...it kind of sank. So the top is smaller than the bottom. Why is it that when it really counts everything that could go wrong goes wrong?

21st Birthday cake for a friends daughter. Her daughter loves dragonflies. She brought in a flowerpot decoration spike that her daughter purchased for her room and asked me to copy it.

This cake almost killed me, lol. My sister gave me 15 hours of a notice that she was getting married by a JP. I made this cake as a suprise and gift to her. fist time doing this kind of scroll work, my tilting turn table really came in handy. All buttercream, dragonfly wings are chocolate. My sister was very pleased to actually have a wedding cake on such short notice.

This is a strawberry cake with dark chocolate BC on 8 inch base and regular BC with strawberry filling on 6 inch top. Dragonflies, flowers and leaves are all edible molded from Pettinice. Your critique for positive improvement would be especially welcome.

This cake was the smash cake for my butterflies and flowers cake. I wanted it to match the bigger cake but not be an exact replica. I really think it turned out cute.

Dragon fly and orchid all made with fondant and luster dust. The outlines on the dragonfly were made by extruding fondant through a toy clay extruder that I found for $1.29.TFL.

My Course 3 Finale: I opted out of the two cakes for reasons yadda yadda and opted to just observe the process and then practice some of the techniques I've learned. It is a Giant Ding Dong Cake with buttercream instead of ganache. Had fun creating this and happy with the result.

This is a baby shower cake made to look like the quilt being used in the nursery. It is a 2 layer 11x15 cake, one layer chocolate, one layer vanilla, with buttercream.

This is my first attempt doing a tier cake. It was for my SIL baby shower. Bottom cake is vanilla with strawberry filling. Middle cake is chocolate with spiked cherry filling and the top cake is lemon with strawberry filling. Fondant figures and buttercream cattails and grass; everything is edible except the wire in the dragonfly.

This is my first time at fondant people. The cake is chocolate with buttercream, fondant, and cooked sugar. The dragonfly has blue cooked sugar for the wings and fondant body. The fairy is fondant. This was my first attempt with cooked sugar and fondant people. I had the most trouble with her face. Better luck next time. lol
