This was a last minute save. A store bought cake was brought to me by a desprate mom. The store just slapped frosting on the cake and piped a line on the base. She had the plastic Dora pieces so I sent Dora on an Adventure. The 3 year old girl loved it! And I got to be the hero.

I originally planned to use the Wilton Dora pan by just changing her clothes but it was too small for the hair and dress. I cut this out of a large sheet cake and used a pattern printed on frosting sheets to decorate her.

This is 2 horseshoe pans put together for the three. Half yellow and half banana. The scene is Dora going to the three places; a forest, lake and then to Nayla's birthday party. I like the way it turned out. Now I'm going to deliver it. I hope they like it.

This weekend Dora's house and Dora came to a mall nearby, so we had some friends come to visit and we all went to see Dora. As part of our Dora slumber party, I made this cupcake cake and BCT- both are my first attempts. I love this technique! Used cali4dawn's bct recipe and cupcake leveling technique, everything worked great! (Thanks Dawn!!!)

I spent all day yesterday baking and decorating the two of these! This was my first go at character cakes and I've decided I don't want to do any more! I could have done a lot better on smoothing the white background and Cinderella's hair, but I had been stuck in that chair for over 8 hours and there were five little girls trying to stick their fingers in everything - succeeding most of the time!! These are for my nieces. They loved them, so I guess it was worth the effort.

This was my first attempt at a BCT. I liked having it done ahead of time, however I was suprised that the black bc started to bleed a bit. Anyone have this problem?

I did this cake for my daughter, who is hopelessly addicted to Dora the Explorer! This is her VERY purple Backpack and Map, two characters that help her along her journeys during the show.

Dora and boots are made from Gumpaste. The cake is covered in buttercream and I painted it on so I could give it texture. The spires are made of buttercream. The pink block things, whatever they are called, are half mmf and gumpaste. I had extra yellow so the door is gumpaste. The board is covered in green mmf.
