This is a cake I made for my sisters co-worker. The used heart shaped cookie cutters to get the outline then used tip 16 to fill in the hearts. It was a white cake with strawberry mousse.

This poor cake suffered a mishap on the way to class and I thought I was going to just have to sit out and watch the others decorate their cakes.  But somehow, by the grace of God I think, I was able to make it look half way presentable with my line design transfer.  It is a really nifty technique!

Yellow cake with white buttercream icing. The birds are done in the color flow technique. I also taught myself the flowers since the week they covered them I had the flu.

This was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing.  All the detail work was done with bc.  It was for a man's birthday that helps design steel projects.  He apparently knew exactly which project right off the bat.  First time on doing anythng like this.

This cake was made for an Indian bride.  Cake was designed after the wedding invitations. They had vines with leaves and the scalloped edges, therefore incorporated them into the design.  The paisley topper was to follow through on the use of it in bridal mehndi designs.  Piped designs in royal icing and painted with Aztec Gold luster dust.  Paisley made out of gumpaste.

This was for my niece on her 21st birthday, who wanted something similar to a black forrest cake, but with strawberries. This cake had 4 layers, in between each was strawberries and home made whipped cream. The cake was then covered in a choclate fudge-like icing, then covered in whipped cream. This has become a favorite of our family.

This cake is iced smooth with buttercream.  Fall colored designs all done in buttercream.

COVERED CAKE IN BUTTERCREAM ICING, FOUND PICTURE, CUT OUT BUILDING IN WHITE AND OUTLINED AND DETAILED IT WITH THOSE
MARKERS THAT ARE FOOD SAFE!  I DIDN'T DO THAT GREAT OF A JOB, BUT I DID WORK ALL DAY & NIGHT AND DID A TOTAL OF 19 CAKES, AM I CRAZY OR WHAT, BUT THE STUDENTS AND STAFF LOVED THEM.

This cake was for a co-worker who is Indian for her last day. These are henna inspired designs. I downloaded a free book off of the internet for pattern ideas. She really liked it. It was white cake, buttercream frosting, and the detail work was chocolate buttercream frosting.

This was a last minute request for customer's 13 year old son. When my husband walked through the kitchen and saw it he said he couldn't believe it was for a kid because this cartoon character curses like crazy and comes on late nights. Oh well, it was what the customer wanted. Who knew?

This is just a random cake layer that was in my freezer.  I used leftover buttercream to frost it.  FUN!!!  I just kept adding more frosting to see what would happen!  LOL!

I made this cake in the new Wilton Fondant and gumpaste class.  All Fondant and fondant/gumpaste work. The top is a keepsake box wich can be kept long after the cake is gone! This was a vanila cake filled with chocolate ganache. I'm very pleased. Not bad for a beginner, huh?

A big 10" opera cake (my version - dark choc cake infused w/ coffee with alternating layers of coffee and choc almond buttercream filling topped with choc mocha buttercream, covered w/ ganache) for the April birthdays at my husband's firm.  Funky fondant accents cover up my ganache imperfections.

This was copied/inspired by a cake in "Wedding Cakes" Issue 17 made by Little Venice Cake Company.  (This magz is published in England).   All BC.  Each little dot piped on there one by one!  (oh gosh my hands are cramping!). Icing smoothed and the ribbon smoothed down with the Melvira Method!!  I had made this design for a bride in cream and white but didn't get any good pics, so I really wanted to do another for photo-ing...even tho' I knew the hand cramps were coming!

My daughter wanted a Poodle cake.  I designed the color scheme after her invitations, and then added the gumpaste poodles.

This client wanted a roller skate cake for her daughter's birthday.  I had trouble finding directions for the skates, so I drew them on a sheet of fondant and cut them out.  Then I airbrushed them and outlined them with black food coloring.  Finally, I piped the laces with buttercream.

I did this cake for my sister-in-law.  Her nursery theme is Noah's Ark.  The baby Angels are coming down the rainbows to help the animals on the Ark.  Everything but the rainbows is edible.  It was a big hit.

Snow White Cakes with raspberry and strawberry buttercream fillings. SMBC buttercream. The bulging in the bottom level is after a one hour car ride to the venue. I'm so bummed. The design is a loose interpretation of the bridesmaids' dresses detail.

The client said all of the little bunnies and eggs started to disappear as soon as it was set out.

This was for a girl that had bone cancer. She was only turning 13 but the Make a Wish Foundation threw her a Quinceanera early. The color and design were to match the color and design on her dress. Cake is done with buttercream luster dusted with pearl. The piping is with royal icing. The ribbon roses and butterfly are made out of gumpaste.

This cake is an Italian Cream Cake with Cream Cheese frosting.  Only the top and bottom layers are made of cake.  The middle layer is a styrofoam dummy.  This was for a 40th Wedding Anniversary.

This is the second cake i made and decorated myself. I got the 
idea from an American Baby magazine (i think.....). Took me awhile
to make since i had no instructions for the design but i'm petty satisfied
with the end result and everyone loved it. (My birthday boy loved it sooooo much that he just couldn't keep his hands off it.....resulting in the messy spot on the left, lol....)

This 3 tier square wedding cake was designed after the bride saw a cake on this website that she asked me to incorporate the lines into her wedding cake. This wedding cake consisted of a  6", 10" and a 14" square cake.  They are covered in white chocolate ChocoPan Fondant.  I covered the cake tops and sides with a size #3 tip/triple dot design, used satin ribbons on the base of each tier and used fresh flowers on top of the cakes that were enclosed in water-filled flower spikes for freshness.

I got the idea for this cake from a lampshade.  I made the cake for my sisters for their birthdays.  They're a week apart, and were having the party on the same day.  So, I just sent it back with my mom when she came down to visit.  My family loves being my guinea pig.  It was mostly to practice the design (which still needs a lot of work), and to test the crème brulèe coffee creamer for flavoring.  Next time I will use fondant.  My oldest sister doesn't like fondant, so I just used buttercream.

First time doing a royal icing/colorflow design in years.  Could've been better (smoother) but it worked.
