This is my first pillow cake for my GodDaughter's 1st bday. I had made a white chocolate crown, but literally the moment I stepped out of my house, the half inch thick crown melted onto the pillow. The top is a 6in squaer smash cake & the bottom is a 12in square. French Vanilla w/ vanilla buttercream & MMF.

8X3 and 6X3 round chocolate cakes iced in buttercream with a fondant bow and silver dragees as accents. Tiara came from the Dollar Store. The little girl loved it and didn't want to cut it!

Made this for a co-worker who had admired my tiara cake. Devil's food cake (Cake Dr. recipe) with chocolate buttercream, then covered with Satin Ice Dark Chocolate fondant. My first time using chocolate fondant - next time I'll roll it out using Crisco instead of my usual cornstarch to avoid some of the marks.

Buttercream stars and silver dragees for decorations. White chocolate tiara (with some parts tinted red) and brushed with luster dust.

Many thanks to carrielynnfields for the tiara pattern!

I was inspired by pics from this site on this one. Cake is covered entirely in mmf with mmf accents. Crown is gumpaste with hard tack candy jewels. I would have made the letters on the bottom tier stand out more clearly if I had it to do over. Otherwise...fun cake. It weighed about 60 pounds I think!

Taken from the amazing previous cakes of Sugarshack and Boween! Thanks to you both for the inspiration.

I wrote on the gumpaste bow & plaque by hand with food colouring pens. (I love my Americolor pen set!! It has saved me hours of labour so far.)

I wanted it to be all pink, but could only find toy crowns for sale with coloured crystals, so I had to improvise a bit. I took the toy crown and painted in those areas with pink nail polish and stuck pink crystals inside.

I did two of these for my twin nieces' 8th birthday. These were the very first cakes I have ever done, and I was pleased with the look of them. Had some problems with my icing drying out. You can tell that some of the purple fell off the bottom. They were a big hit with all the kids though!

Each 'princess' who attended DD birthday party was allowed to choose a gown and tiara of her choice to add to the crystal slippers already in their goodie bags. These were fun to make with a 3 year old providing a lot of direction with which colors and icing tips to use! LOL

This cake was iced in buttercream and the dress ruffles done with a #104 tip and the bodice of the dress done with a #16 tip. The bottom tier was airbrushed purple and for a finishing touch Barbie crown rings were added.

Practice Cake - just wanted to try a couple things. 1st time making a royal icing crown and also 1st attempt at using stencils and royal icing for designs on the side (bottom tier). Cake is covered in MMF and I used an impression mat on the top tier. Also my 1st time using impression mat on fondant (have only used it 1 other time and that was on BC). Definitely need more practice but, overall I was pretty happy with how this turned out.

The bride to be loved to hunt and fish. The crown represented the name of the grooms family business.
Sorry, this was my first attempt at uploading. The crown was made from gumpaste with a lace cutter and allowed to dry around a can. Pearls were added and super pearl brushed on afterwards.

Crown Royal bottle made for a friend of mine. It is three loaf pan cakes stacked on top of each other. First cake I've ever made where I had to dowel it. I was happy with this one.

My daughter searched through the computer and found a cake with a crown on top and absolutely loved it. She asked if I could do the same. The only difference was that I didn't put the crown on a pillow. I wished I would have.

I made this wedding cake for my best friends wedding in july. I wanted to put cake jewllery around each cake like a crown but they are so expensive to buy so i had a go at making them and they turned out just as i wanted.

My first cake with a novelty pan, and first time doing star fill-in. Those stars take forever! It was for my sister and her friends when they moved into their new apartment. (The 5 point crown and strawberry are both symbols for their sorority.)

Butter cake, white choc. truffle and raspberry fillings. Iced all in BC. Gumpaste crown, bow and name plate. Fondant flowers (everyone seems to want fondant ribbon roses lately). Dragees too. I made the crown using a playdough toy (that I use strictly for cakes). I wanted to put tassels on each corner as well, but when I was trying to finish up this cake (2 am) I broke my garlic press while trying to push gumpaste through it. Princesses are obviously toys.

My mother often refers to herself as a domestic goddess, so I thought I’d make a cake that fit the title. :) Choc-o-holic two tier 8” cake on the bottom and pound cake pillow on top - all covered and decorated in fondant. White chocolate crown brushed with luster dust. Mom was most impressed.

Many many thanks to Pyxxydust for her prince cake that inspired me, and MelC for her tiara template which I used for the crown.

This is the cake I did for my daughter's 2nd birthday. We had a Strawberry Shortcake Princess party and nearly every aspect of this cake was inspired from the invitation. 10, 8 and 6 inch layers covered in MMF. Tiara is a plastic tiara and ribbon is real ribbon. Garland swags, strawberries and pearls all MMF with the exception of the pearls on the middle layer that were purchased edible pearls. Swirls on top layer are royal icing. A lot of planning and work, but I was SO happy with this cake....

This is actually my finale cake for the course 3 class, but I thought that it could make a ver pretty wedding cake or even a birthday ( sweet sixteen or something like that.) The top cake is a 6" coconut cake, the nest one is an 8" yellow and the bottom (covered by the roses) is a 10" chocolate all are covered with buttercream and fondant. I made over 100 roses to cover the sides of the 2" high 10" That became my "boarder" for the cake. I need more practice on the string work, otherwise it's ok.

It's supposed to look like a monkey went through it. It kind of bothered me to give a "messy" cake to someone, but they loved it.

Thanks to all the other CC members who have posted a pillow cake, I took inspiration from you all!
