Nursery was in vintage western, so this is what I came up with for the shower. Used the embossed pleather decorator fabric to get detail on the belt border... cheapest impression mat ever! Topper (wagon) was actually a birdhouse that can be used in the nursery or hung outside. Diapers made out of felt. Boots are scrapbook stickers. Everything else is edible.

Made this cake to match the theme of the party from a napkin that was given to me. Cake is a 16" white almond cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant. Cowboy and cactus are both a frosting sheet on fondant cut to fit. Background is air brushed and details around the border are piped royal icing. I had help from a friend with this one so I can't take all the credit.

This is my first solo wedding cake. It's made out of 18" 16" and 12" rounds. At brides request all the flowers are silk. I had to adjust the design a little as I made the cake but the bride had given me adjustment freedom and in the end we were both very happy with the outcome. Comments and critiques welcome.

My first attempt at a cowboy hat. Didn't quite turn out like the picture I was given - but it was as close as I could get and the birthday boy seemed to really like it. It's all buttercream except for the hat brim and bandanna. The bandanna design was incomplete due to a problem with the pre-made "buttercream" my husband bought for me. It sprayed out like a can of whipped topping through the piping bag so I couldn't complete the paisley pattern.

This hat was NOT fun! I used marshmallow fondant and didn't have the best experience, but you live and learn. It turned out alright!

I was asked to make this cake to be auctioned off at an annual weekend rodeo. The cake is a 12 inch chocolate cake iced in buttercream with fondant accents. The buckle is fondant with a royal icing horse and gold dragees. The humidity was awful and the hat would not dry so it really doesn't look like a cowboy hat. The boots are made from a mold and dusted with cocoa powder and gold dust.

The customer wanted a cowboy boot out of cake, but I did not have time to figure out how to do that, so I suggested rice krispy treats. This was designed after a ceramic boot she had. Covered in fondant, hand painted spots.

Another cowboy hat, second time around is easier. Thanks to cakemaker for her great instructions. I put a braid around the brim because it didn't turn out as smooth as I would have liked. This went with the rice krispy cowboy boot.

This cake was so fun to make! It was a chocolate cake with buttercream. The star is peanut butter candy pieces that I melted down, added yellow food coloring, poured into a Martha Stewart's huge copper cookie cutter & sprinkled with gold luster dust. The horseshoe is chocolate chips melted in the microwave, poured into the shape of a horseshoe, refrigerated, then carved to shape. To give it a rustic look, I dusted it with cocoa. And the rope is fondant.

Well, here it is. I will be putting together the "how to" soon. I was disappointed but it turned out ok. Vanilla cake with buttercream and fondant and Kincaellan's jewels. Belt buckle is gumpaste painted with luster dust and alcohol. Cake is for a 50th surprise birthday party for a co-worker that wanted a pink cowboy hat with rhinestones. Note to self ~ make sure you know where all of your required tools are before beginning a project!
