This was the cake that was suppose to have been done the weekend Rita hit Louisiana. All the flowers I had made, melted from the heat when we lost power. I got a call late Monday telling me the wedding was rescheduled for this Friday. The bows made previoussly from fondant had fallen didn't look right. I didn't realize it so I had my sister make bows from ribbon and used on the corners of the cake. The flowers are made from gumpaste and centers were brushed with magenta luster dust.

This was made for my best friend that is getting married... kind of to give her an idea of what I wanted to do for her wedding cake since I am making it for her as a gift.

12" sqaure & 8" round. Both double layer, almond flavored white cake with fresh strawberry filling and almond BC icing and chocolate covered strawberries. The Methodis cross & flame done in the chocolate transfer method that Squirrelly posted. LOVED IT & SO EASY! Had to deliver the cake 50 miles away. Top cake shifted on the drive over. Thank goodness I was able to use the Choco Strawberries to hide it. This was probably the most perfect/even cake I did until the drive over. <sigh>

Yet another ganache cake. I hadn't ever seen a cake like this until I found CC. I made this cake once and now people around here have been requesting it a lot.

This cake is chocolate cake with homemade chocolate buttercream, and topped with chocolate covered strawberries. I used Ghiradelli milk chocolate and Ghiradelli white chocolate. I dipped some of them in shredded coconut, sliced almonds, and mini chocolate morsels. I tied a chocolate satin ribbon around the center.

4 Tiered Wedding Cake. Stacked Construction. Buttercream covered in fondant with black scrollwork. I was petrified to decorate this cake with black icing (it is so unforgiving). Turned out much better than I expected. This was the first time I had ever covered a cake in fondant

This was inspired by Colette Peters Christmas Cake pictured on the cover of American Cake Decorating Nov/Dec 1995 issue. This cake is the Wilton petal pan. The cakes rest on a fondant covered board and I used gumpaste poinsettie ribbon flowers with bow loops. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

This is the groom's cake that went with the single tier ivory wedding cake. They requested chocolate cake with chocolate covered strawberries. This was my first time using ganache. It was very thick and didn't 'pour' down the sides of the cake as I had wanted, I had to 'help' it go down the sides. I re-heated it some before trying to pour it, but was scared to get it too warm, because I didn't want it to melt the chocolate frosting. It looked very tasty though!!!

I made this cake for my son's 18th birthday. Since the first time I saw this cake at the Wilton book "Celebrate with Fondant" I knew I had to try it some day. It was very hard to make, I know it's not perfect, but I was happy with the result. It's a chocolate almond cake.

This was a cake I did to celebrate the birthdays at work. Just regular vanilla cake with bc and covered with mmf. Sponged on colors. Used royal icing like spackle with stencil for top and sides then painted with gold.

This is my first attempt at basketweave - I was pleased with the way it came out. It was a chocolate cake with strawberry filling and chocolate covered strawberries. I made the numbers out of royal icing and glued them to florist's wire. I also put some red sparkler candles. Only the 3rd cake I've made!

Fondant covered and Gumpaste flowers. This was a DH orange cake mix baked in the fancifill pan. The filling was whipped orange jello mixed with cool whip. The butter cream under the fondant was orange flavored too. Couldn't get the jello fondant to work so had to go with the Wilton fondant to get finished for class. The cake was really delicious once we peeled the fondant off.

This young lady of 90 yrs. loves vibrant colors & especially choc. covered strawberries... The 90 on the cake is made from the choc. mold, after the number was set I broke a lollipop stick in 1/2 & added the stick & wet choc. to the back of it & let it dry. Now I had her age to stand out on her cake & she could eat it too... Added her picture to the cake for a personal touch, everyone loved it..

This was for a girl that graduated from OU (Univ. of Oklahoma), and received a coveted internship at Nordstrom's (a dept. store). The bottom tier was designed around a giftcard she received that had 'fashion girls' on it. The covered wagon is symbolic of OU. 12 different sides to this cake, each one different. It was so fun to make!

This is a four layer chocolate cake , with Chocolate covered Strawberries. There are chocolate swirls and chocolate hearts on top. This was a great cake and the one change I would make would be , that I would not used hot fudge topping, I would use a chocolate ganache.

This was my first and probably my last mmf covered cake. Making the mmf was fairly easy, but getting it smooth on the cake was a different story. Tomorrow is mine and hubby's 13th anniversary so this was a "practice, just for the fun of it, cake"
