This is a FBCT, I put the comic book in the picture in case you aren't familiar with Sonic X (so you can tell it's supposed to look like that!). My first attempt at basketweaving, had no idea it was so easy!

My son turned 13 and wanted a cake to reflect his personality. This character from the Zits comics is one of his favorites! The cake is a simple but moist white cake with butter cream frosting and decoration. I have been decorating since he was born and have only ever done buttercream, but you all are inspiring me to try other things soon!!

A friend's son was having a "Fantastic 4" birthday party. I never even knew what that was and soon learned it was a comic and a movie. So I did some research and found a few pictures. Then I found that the birthday boy wanted the cake to be "The Thing" and so this is what I came up with.

Don't know if anyone knows the Bone comics too well, but the author is Jeff Smith and it's one of my husband's favorite comics. Yes, my DH is a comic book geek, but I still love him. It's an ice cream cake with a layer of the Wacky Cocoa cake and a layer of Dryer's slow churned vanilla bean ice cream. Frosted with Frostin Pride (similar to Pastry Pride) and decorate with Reese's Pieces Candy (another one of his requests). Bone title was done by FBT.

DH is a HUGE comic book fan...so I surprised him with this for our first anniversary. :) Started with a base colored mmf and then sprayed with the Preval gun and wiped color away on base tier to resemble flame. White choc ganache on ice tier. The figurines on top are Iceman and Firestar (they represent us LOL)...and the tiers correspond to each. Emblems are MMF - I had Batman, but it broke. Ice cubes are rice krispies twice dipped in blue choc then dusted with lustre dust. He loved it!

Old age must be catching up with me on this one...it was suppose to be Superman. Thank goodness he is only three years old and won't be scarred for life. The mom was happy anyway and put in another order for a cake for Wednesday for her daughter's b/d.

Spiderman is an edible image.

This cake was for my BIL who's only 8. It is yelow cake with BC frosting. The Naruto part is a BCT from the comic book cover. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw it! I think there could have been more detail.

An X-Men cake for my nefew Xavier's 1st birthday. It was my first time using MMF and I loved it! The yellow and "fire" in the center cake is MMF, I ran out and had to use regular fondant for the rest.

This chocolate cake & crispy rice treat version does not do the comic/cartoon character justice. Naruto is some cool ninja dude my nephew loves watching and inspired his latest b-day party theme.

For my son's birthday, he chose one layer of red velvet cake and one layer of devil's food cake and he actually sketched out the design he wanted. I made it with icing and fondant decorations!

Thanks to everyone on this site for inspiring me to create this version of Spider-Man. It's constructed of 3 different flavor cakes, buttercream icing and the head is made of crispy rice treats. It's all covered in fondant.

Wasn't sure where to put this picture.........
this is a Marvel comic character. Guess he's big in some circles..... (like my boss). It's an edible photo and then the cake was airbrushed.

Made this cake for my husband's 30th birthday. I was in a hurry when I decorated it so the icing isn't very smooth and there are some obvious blemishes but overall I was happy with how it turned out!

This is a BCT of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. My coworker gave me a few ideas of what he liked and I went one step further and did an entire strip! This bct turned out so much better than my boat did.
