This was a last minute save. A store bought cake was brought to me by a desprate mom. The store just slapped frosting on the cake and piped a line on the base. She had the plastic Dora pieces so I sent Dora on an Adventure. The 3 year old girl loved it! And I got to be the hero.

This was a transfer of Dory traced out on wax paper and flipped onto the cake and filled in. This was my 2nd attempt at this.

This was for my 2 yo and 3 yo shared b-day party. The thought of all of the 3 yo guests running around after eating a frosting piped pig or cow scared me, so I used Little People!

Sheet cake cut and stacked. Red icing is canned strawberry with added red food color. Color was great, would not be stiff enough for any piping. Can't recall what I started with for the black. The black was Chefmaster liquid color.
Decorations are gumdrops, chiclets, m&ms, licorice.

My son went through a lot of medical things within the first 6 mo's of his life, so for some reason, Naoh's Ark had been a running theme for his first year. My husband did not want the traditional waves, so we went with grass instead (post landing).

My first ever cake, a trial version of a christening cake. I decided to match the scheme with the theme of my son's room - bugs. I think it looks a bit too much like platecine and will probably go for a more tradition christening cake for the real thing. It is chocolate mud with a layer of marzipan followed by a layer of sugarpaste with hand moulded sugarpaste figures.

This was an extremely forgiving cake. I used a bundt pan and baked an extra cupcake to place in the center to create the "nest". Fondant for the dinosaur, the egg, and a few leaves... Chocolate "rocks" all around the "ground". My son had it in his head he wanted a dinosaur egg cake, and by golly, he got it!

I made this cake for my son's 11th birthday. He's 18 now and this is still his favorite cake! It was iced with buttercream and I used wax paper to transfer the Patriots logo on to the cake.

This was a fun cake to make! It was a 13 x 9 chocolate cake iced in buttercream. I baked some batter in ice cream cones and frosted them with icing too. The scoops of ice cream are more buttercream. Just before serving I topped it with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry!

My DH works for the school district as a counselor/psychologist. His co-workers have been asking for a cake for a while now, so this seemed like the perfect chance to do it. They all work so hard, they deserve a treat now and then!
