This cake was made with a 10 inch contour cut in half. Iced in buttercream and covered in fondx with fondx accents. It was bought by a young man for a New Orleans evacuee. I hope that she likes it.

This was my first attempt to make a purse cake. It was actually a trial run of a sweet 16 cake that I am doing next week. I learned a lot in the process of making it. The cake is made from 2 8X8 cake pans and it is covered and accented with MMF.

This was my very first major order, it was for a sweet 16 party. Mom wanted shoebox and purse cakes, thanks to many of the ideas that I incorporated from this website, I was able to do it. The shoebox lid is a MMF covered styrofoam rectangle. However, the bottom of box and handbag are cakes. I am really not that comfortable with fondant yet, so there were alot of little mistakes, they loved it though. The shoe was made from gumpaste. Any tips for working with fondant???

What a job!! The purse is pumpkin spice with cream cheese icing and MMF. The shoebox is yellow cake with buttercream icing and MMF. The shoe is gumpaste. The shoe took about 6 tries to get this one and although it is nowhere near perfect, I can live with it. I want to especially thank TToomer, socake and boonenati for all of the instructions and help with making this cake!!

This is my first attempt at a purse cake. It was commissioned by a lady I work with. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out but I've learned some things for next time.

12x18 sheet topped with a 9x7 sheet. Both fileed with BC and Strawberry filling. Covered in Bc and MMF. Marlboro packet is a small chocolate cake covered in fondant. All other accents MMF. This was my first bag cake of any kind, was just given the remit of shopping bag with cigarette packet and handbag stuff. Really enjoyed it and happy with (most) of it.

Not sure of anyone else experienced this same sort of problem, but I keep getting request from people to make the same cake designs over and over again. For me it gets extremely boring. Has anyone figured out a way to get deal with this issue?

I did a cake with "patches" previously for my friend and her brother liked it so much that he had me make one for his girlfriend. It makes a pretty personalized cake because all the patches are what makes up the individual. All in BC.

Believe it or not, this was for a six year old's birthday party. It was a blast to make, although very time consuming. Everything is covered in MMF, gumpaste shoes and fondant pearls. Sunglasses were gumpaste with sugar lenses. The shopping bag was WASC with rasberry filling and white chocolate ganache, the Chanel purse was a rum cake.

My sister wants a Chanel purse really bad, only will never spend the money to buy one so I decided to make her one for her birthday. I told her it would probably be the only Chanel purse she'd ever get! LOL It was kind of a rushed job & my buttercream was having issues, but she loved it so that's all that matters.

Well, this was my very first attempt at one of these cakes, and I sure did learn a lot!
Number one rule...do NOT try to add fondant details before they have dried for 24 hours! lol
All in all, I'm happy with the end results...but I'm already visualizing the next one! :-) Thanks
to all the CC folks out there that took the time to post their pictures, so I could use them
as inspiration for mine!

I made this cake for my 17 year old's birthday as I had 25 teenagers at my house. It took 1 and 1/2 hours to complete - including making more icing because of couse it would slide off the cake and bring crumbs with it... that's what happens when you rush! She liked it, it was served outside in the dark so no one noticed the big split in the top! tfl!

I made this cake for my mum's 65th birthday. You can't tell from the photo, but the C logo has edible black glitter that really makes it 'pop'! I have to admit that my mum isn't *particularly* into handbags, but I needed a cake that wouldn't take too long to do, because of other cake commitments this week. But I think she'll love it! It's a rich fruit cake (mum's favourite) covered with marzipan and then sugarpaste (fondant).
