Cake I made for my boys, just because. They love the new Cars movie and I bought the pan, so i figured I'd make it for them. Orange cake with Crusting Cream Cheese Icing. I could have made the sides smoother, but they won't mind!

This was for a little girl who was born on the 4th of July, so we added fireworks around her name & a red, white & blue border! I was very happy with how he turned-out! I used the "NASCAR" pan, but it was a little long. Next time I may try cutting a portion of the middle out - but that is also a very scary idea! Thanks for looking!

This is both cakes that I did for my son's 2nd birthday. The half sheet cake is 1/2 white cake and 1/2 chocolate cake, iced in buttercream. The cars are actually the toys that he had gotten out of the Happy Meals. He loved both of his cakes, as did all the party guests. That always makes me feel good!

Thanks for looking!

I made this for my son's 5th Birthday. He wanted McQueen to be blue instead of red. So we sent McQueen off to the "body shop" for a new paint job.

This was done just for fun. It was my first "free hand" cake. I used the Wilton car pan. I built the spoiler with the cake I'd cut off the bottom. The wheels are made with Thin Mints.

My VERY FIRST try at cake decorating! Thanks so much for all the great inspirations (from posted photos & chats)!
Lightning McQueen is royal icing transfer. Broke in 3 pieces (can see the repair job). Did it break because not enough time to dry? Would love to hear advise.
This cake is for friend's son's birthday. Practicing for my daughter's in 3 months and my son's birthday (same theme) next March.

This cake was done for a benefit auction. It is a 10x7" chocolate, oval-shaped cake, iced with vanilla buttercream. The "Cars" logo is an edible image the grass and track are airbrushed. The vehicles are Wilton party favors. I hope it does well and someone loves this cake as much as my 6 y/o son does!

This was my first attempt at the "Frozen Buttercream Transfer Method". I was very unhappy with it. I had to do a lot of "doctoring" on this cake. If I do this one again, I will probably use colorflow.

A two-tiered "Cars" themed cake for a 3-year old's birthday. Various characters in FBCT are around the sides of the cake with "Welcome to Radiator Springs" in the back. A store-bought Lightning McQueen tops the cake along with flags that I made by printing out a checkered flag design and attaching to skewers. Street signs and mini-roads also adorn the cake.

Made this one for my nephew's 6th birthday. If you have a Cars cake posted here, then I probably got inspiration from you...thanks! Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I used those coconut covered marshmallows for the rocks and grahm crackers for the sand. Thanks for looking!!

1/2 sheet cake. Edible image of lightning mcqueen. The top check pattern is also EI. The side check pattern is are piped buttercream. Fondant banners and buttercream trim. This cake took a lot of time because I had to cut 2 frosting sheets to make the pattern match up and then piping the sides with the check pattern. I'm happy with it though.

FBCT.
I know those sprinkles won't much with this cake but the BD boy can't have any food coloring and those sprinkles are all natural colored.

Lightning Mcqueen cake was made from the VW bug pan (can't remeber exact name?) from Wilton and carved to resemble a race car.. Wheels from chocolate covered Oreos. Thanks to a lot of talented users on this whose pictures of their wonderful cakes, helped me. (The tiny cake has an actual Car on it)

A huge thank you goes out to boonenati (Nati) for this one!!! I couldn't have done it without her instructions and help! It's not anywhere near hers but I learned alot doing this one! My 1st carved cake! Lightning is chocolate cake, mmf and accents Flag is gumpaste and bottom cake is choc/ choc chip. This wasn't his best side but one of the kiddies got excited and stuck their finger in the other side lol!

A front view of the cake I made for my son's 3rd birthday. I had so much fun making this cake. The look on my son's face was priceless. All BC with MMF accents. Used the Wilton 3D cruiser pan and carved it for a more racecar shape. This was my very first time making MMF and BC.

I was aksed to make a "Cars" cake for a co-workers 3 year old son's birthday party. Well this is it. Radiator Springs is carved foam covered in colored royal icing. Toy cars sit on top the black wheel cakes (yellow cake with chocolate frosting between the layers, white buttercream coating and Fluff fondant on the outside) Lightning McQueen is the same as the 4 wheel cakes but in red.
