This fun cake is one of my most popular designs since I'm located in Florida. The seashells are white chocolate, each hand decorated.

I made this cake for my sister in law, whom everybody calls chocolate. I was looking for somethin special so I cut a giant Hersey kiss in half and placed in the middle of the cake and used regular ones for the border.

My first cupcake cake and frozen buttercream transfer. These are red velvet cupcakes (20) with cream cheese frosting (background only). I also filled each cupcake with some of the cream cheese frosting. I did this for my cousin's baby shower. She loved it. Dawn, Thank You sooooo much for sharing your technique. Your instructions were great. I used the Walmart brand of fudge frosting and it was perfect for outlining. Now I can move on to more detailed designs. I hope to get as good as you one day.

My 6years old grandson designed this cake for his birthday. He wanted a Blues Clues one but his father opposed it and asked him to choose another item. He chose and designed this one.

This was not an original idea but my interpretation of a fun and funny cake to do for my good friend 40th birthday. She was an exceptionally good sport. It was my first time making any kind of 3 dimensional character from frosting. A little secret I will tell you....the gal in the hole is actually the 2nd one. The cake was finished & then I turned around and the 1st girl was gone, she fell into the hole...so I poured some more Cocoa powder in and buried her! LOL Talk about poignant!

This was a very fun cake to do if not frustrating. It was for my 5 year old godson Zack...and he doesn't like chocolate so the cake is a yellow cake...and I really tried to use straight butter cream tinted brown for the wooden planks...but the look just didn't (okay here is comes) float my boat! AH So I mixed in some Fudge icing...and it worked much better...given more time I would have added more detail to the ship...but as it was I was 35 minutes late to the party.

This was a cake patterned after the chosen party decorations. The interesting challenge was to do a wave of two colors around the side of the cake to match the plates and napkins. The butterflies and flowers are all made from hand piped colored chocolate.

This was the first time the spirit over took me with the desire to have the decorations on the cake come up off the cake. Again this design was inspired by the party decorations chosen by Maxie's Mom. She had a pool party and fish were the theme. The coral/seaweed strands were not on the decorations but the cake just seemed to need them.

The fish theme was revisited by Maxie's Mom for her 3rd birthday. this time specifically Nemo was requested. All but the actual Nemo characters were made from colored chocolate again...a bit of a recurring medium for me.

This was a departure in so much as I did not know the birthday girl. So i was told 3rd hand she likes soccer and she like Pink...and honestly i really didn't know how I would combined them and it not look completely awful. but this is what I came up with in the end and I let you be the judge. I used the Wilton Ball Mold, using only one half. The cake was Dark Chocolate Fudger with Fresh Raspberry layer in the center.

Clorinda loves Blue's Clues. So a Blue's Clues cake was the thing to do. The big Blue face is made with colored chocolate (I know I know I need a new medium...just this has become so easy for me<g>) I played with Candy coloring to get the shades of blue correct...and sadly his right ear broke in the process of positioning on the cake. I decided to make the cupcake "Clues" at the last minute...kids are so much better with eating cupcakes than cake slices.

Okay this one is a bit gawdy for my usual tastes but it matched the party decorations and Little Zoelette loved it. It started out as a much more adventurous project. I was determined to make the Hello Kitty topper out of cake. I went out and bought the Wilton mini teddy bear mold, and baked up four of them. I started with the first one and cut the face down, peaked the ears, and bobbed the tail off...but then got stuck...(more below)

Not an original concept saw it online. Tempuratures were 95+ on Saturday...so the cake began to tip...I used posts for support. But next time I would definately add a long skewer down through the entire cake through the individual layer cake boards.

This is my first attempt with the faux fondant technique I used the Crusted Buttercream II recipe posted at this site. I was so pleased, as were the 2 brides I am making cakes for in October. I sure do reccomend this technique! I won't be messing around with rolled fondant anymore.

I made this cake for my husband and I celebrating our second year of marriage. It is a miniature cake with 2", 3" and 4" tiers. These tiers are covered in rolled fondant. The cake itself is a rich west indian fruitcake made with fruits that have been steeped in liquor.

As usual with me, another rushed cake. I must admit, there are 2 things I cannot achieve: making ruffles and roses.
