This black, white and red cake was done with buttercreme and the shows ad bow are fondant. It was my first tiered cake and was a big hit at the party. I used sugar cookie dough to make the shoes and covered with dyed fondant.

This was for a formal graduation party...Black & White was the color scheme...The guest of honor wanted the cake to look like the center pieces which was a tower of white boxes wrapped in a black bow (You sort of get a glimpse of it in the picture) It was a 5 tier cake with Kaluhua Rasberry Cream filling (yum yum!) Bow and cake all in Satin Ice Fondant. Any suggestions more than welcome!!! Thanks

This is a cake I did for a couple that was celebrating their 8th anniversary. They wanted it all blacknwhite with roses and lace. So I made 8 fondant black roses lighty dusted with pearl dust. Cornelli lace on top both cakes with a black fondant ribbon on the bottom lightly dusted with the pearl dust. Came out looking like black pearl color. Very pretty! They loved it.

What a funky wedding! Everything was in black and white with circles...the menus, the vases, tables & linens. I do LOVE a theme!

I was so excited when the bride asked for this cake. Apparently it was Ashton & Demi's wedding cake design last year. It is a design from a Chicago company called "Take the Cake", but I can't seem to locate their website to confirm that?

The tiers are each 6.5" tall. It took 2 of us to fondant and smooth the 5 tiers of 4",6",8",10" and 12". 4 hours to decorate with circles!

First time doing a topsy-turvy...had to travel 2 1/2 hours with it! Groom wanted color scheme of black, white, silver to match reception. Had a few "bumps" along the way that I had to fix....have better ideas what to do next time I need to make one.

First off I have to admit this is a dummy cake. I was so close to saying no way when my sister in law asked me to do it, she said it could be fake if that would help! I didn't have a lot of time so that's what I did. I think it gave me the confidence to try new things though, I had never worked with fondant before and had no intention until then.

Just a basic 9x13 cake covered with white fondant. I used a note cookie cutter to cut out pieces of the white, then filled the holes with black notes. The cake was one layer yellow, one layer chocloate with a hazelnut creme filling between the layers.

Design for a potenital customer. It was also part experiment-I wasn't sure if you could add coco powder to RI but it worked and tasted good too. Then I added some black coloring to it as well.

Looks pretty good huh? Well this was after working on it for countless hours and before moving it. I thought I would save some time and put it together at home. (I had done it before and everything went fine!!) Lesson learned! After all was said and done it turned out to be two layers shorter! Luckily the bride wasn't mad!! I was very fortunate for that.

14,10 and 6" vanilla cake iced and filled with buttercream. Gumpaste roses and bows. Satin ribbons. I really loved this cake. Had a little problem with bulging on the middle layer but I'm still very proud of this one.

This is taken from a Wendy Kromer design. a dummy cake made for a bridal expo this weekend, 12 inch base, 9 inch middle and 6 inch top, covered in fondant and handpiped black royal icing details. the thin ribbons are attached to the fondant by wetting them and then just placing them on, very easy.

I made this saturday, july 1st for my moms 25th anniversary. It was an honor for me to do this. It took three days. I baked all day Thursday, frosteded all day Friday and set up all morning on Saturday. Two layers are chocolate, one yellow, the middle is yellow filled with strawberry and the bottem is filled with pineapple ( my signiture filling). The top cake is a 12", next is a 16" and the bottom was 4 - 10" to = 20 x 20. The side cakes were an 8" on top of a 12". Icing is buttercream.

I made a holstein-like cake for my dad's birthday party tomorrow. My dad is a dariy farmer, that's why I did the cow theme. It is covered in MMF, but the spots are Wilton pre-colored fondant in black. The cow is plastic and came from Farm Fleet! I haven't made anything for about 3 months due to moving.....and I was a little rusty. I think the new Wilton globes I used look cute though! I should've tried to make the cow out of fondant, but I ended up doing this at the last minute.

My oven is still out so I tried another dummy cake. This idea came from a green plaid cake I saw online.

I didn't care for the way this turned out. We were pretty rushed in class trying to get it done. I do like the colors pink, black and white though.
I didn't want to put the dots on the ribbon but one of my fellow students touched the ribbon with her finger that had food coloring on it. Since I didn't have time to redo the cake I just threw some dots on.
Working with fondant was fun and I think I will remake the gift box cake but spend more time on it.

Made for my niece, who just decorated her room in pink, black and white. This is a chocolate cake iced with peanut butter fudge icing, covered with marshmallow fondant. The circles of different color and size, were cut from marshmallow fondant and attached. It was my first try with the marshmallow fondant, and while it is tasty, it is harder to roll out as thin as regular fondant. The marshmallow fondant was too rich for the cake, so in the end it was pulled off just the same.
