This was my mother's 43rd B-day cake. And my first one for other people. It is Chocolate fudge cake with chocolate chips. Raspberry mousse filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. The roses are also a first for me and also made out of BC.

This is my third practice cake only, so there's bound to be a few flaws... like I only have one tip so the piping isn't exactly amazing (still waiting to receive the set I won on eBay). I used the "upside down icing" technique which is less tricky than I expected. The sides and top came out nice and square, overall straight, no lumps, bumps or indents.

This is a picture my first wedding cake. It is Ivory buttercream frosting with BC roses and fondant swags. The only request that the bride made was for the colors, she left the design up to me. I wasn't sure how the fondant swags would look with the buttercream, but all in all I thought it turned out okay. The bride was very pleased with it so I guess that is considered a success. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I can always use advice on bettering myself.

Picnic Chocolate Cake, Chocolate BC, single layer, gumpaste rose....literally a throw-together for my niece's birthday! Used what I had on hand...which should remind me how important a stash of flowers is! LOL She loves K-State...thus the plate that doesn't match the cake!!!

My husband just started a new job 2 weeks ago, and they heard that I do cakes. They now want to order a cake from me for every birthday in the office. There are approx. 15 employees! This is the already the 2nd cake that I have done for them. It is a 9" round white cake with chocolate BC filling and BC icing. It was quick and easy. I do struggle with coming up with ideas for men's cakes, but I think this will work.

Thanks for looking!

This was an original idea. JOKE!!! lololOLOL So...credit goes to the kazillion other people who've made a version of this race track cake. Whoever dreamed it up should be quite proud! It was fun, and the four year old LOVED IT! All BC except for the asphalt track...which isn't asphalt, it's fondant. :-) Matchbox cars.

Joint party for two fifteen year old cousins. Identical cakes to serve 50...so added "fluff" to give the illusion of a more grand cake. Chocolate fudge cakes with raspberry and chocolate fillings. White BC piping. Pink accents. Fondant pearls. Silk flowers. White lights in glass bowl under flower bouquet....elevated.

This is a lemon cake with raspberry filling and the Wilton BC recipe. The NY was done using the frozen buttercream recipe (my first attempt at it) and the baseballs and baseball bat is made out of a gumpaste fondant mix.

My SIL called and said that they would be coming in town in 2 hours and that it was her husbands birthday. I had 2 hours to make a cake. It is a spice cake with crystalized ginger in the BC frosting. I thought it turned out looking pretty good and tasted awesome.

white cake, bc icing w/FBCT of mall logo, MMF musical notes. I didn't win, but it was fun to see all the entries! They also had 4 local pros doing a "challenge" like on Food Network! Pretty cool!

This cake was made for a young lady that wanted a very simple wedding. I think it turned out nice except that the table it was setup on had mirrors and so it throws a shadow on the upper layers. The bride was very happy and she sent some business my way, so I am happy

This was for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I ordered the paper goods online which the picture is from an artist who does water color style drawings of horses and little girls. I used a projector to trace the napkin and did a BC transfer (first attempt ever). Made matching flowers out of RI and added the grass border. I think the top of the cake was a bit simple and could have used something more...but all in all pleased with turn out.

This is the side view of the Silly Horse. (Silly horse is what my 3 year old calls a horse rolling on it's back). I think the flowers on the border definately made the cake.

I did this for my dad's work Thanksgiving party. I had trouble with my BC transfer (never hardened and stayed mushy) I must have used the wrong recipe. I did manage to get it transfered with on a few fixable flaws. The leaves on the border were RI. They all enjoyed it.

I did these two cakes for my daughter's boyfriend and his twin brother. One plays the drums and the other guitar in church band. I did the entire top of cakes as a BC transfer. I accidently left off some detail on the guitar, but all in all turned out ok. They loved them and dove right in with a fork!

BC icing with a yellow cake. The tree is covered with plastic wrap, but it was a column covered in brown icing. The leaves are not edible. The names are on Wilton roll-out cookies with poured icing and BC icing names.

Snickerdoodle Cake with Cinnamon Butter Cream Icing and RI flowers. I had been dying to try the reverse shell on a cake since class as I alway seemed to mess it up when actually doing it on a cake... this time was no different. I didn't 'reverse' in a couple of spots. (I won't tell you where!) :) Anyway, this is a cake for a Women's Shelter our church provides a community meal to twice a year. I get practice, and they get cake! Enjoy the photo and I'll keep working on my reverse shell! Thanks!

My eldest was really into Tinkerbell at the time. But getting a figurine in South Africa was difficult. So I had to improvise by cutting out Tink from the goody bags. Sorry about the quality of the pic.
