I have Tina27 and Lou to thank for this idea.....this is for a baby shower. Sorry I am putting it in birthday cakes, but there is no category for baby showers anymore on the upload window. I think it turned out ok....still wasnt' 100% as happy with it. Hopefully, the recipients will like it.

After a disastrous trial reconciliation, KelleyM and Buttercream have announced they are immediately filing for divorce. “He’s a bum,” KelleyM sobbed to her sister at 1:20 this morning. “He’s sloppy and messy and he lets me down when it really counts. I can’t live like this anymore.” Buttercream told friends that KelleyM ignored his best qualities. “She had unrealistic expectations. She wanted more than I could give. I knew she was using Fondant again. She would say she was just going out for more butter, and come home with bags of marshmallows, saying she “had a craving for Rice Krispy treats.” But she never bought Rice Krispies. She wasn’t fooling anyone. Can’t she see that Fondant tastes like #*%#$? Someday she’ll be back.” “Ha! Never!” retorted KelleyM. “After what that little *^&$@ did to me on that rubber duck cake? He’s lucky I’m just divorcing him. Fondant treats me nice…makes me feel like a real decorator. This is the start of my new life, and I’m NEVER going back.”

This is 2, 6x3in stacked white cake filled with buttercream. It's covered in fondant. The Girl and the tub are made of marzipan. Her hair, hair pins and bubbles are royal icing and the top is trimmed with buttercream. I used a rubber stamp to inprint the eiffel tower and hand painted it in. This was for about 10 people (my family) for my sister Heathers' B-day.

This was a really fun cake to make. I made the invitations also and they had a baby in a bath tub on them with bubbles all over. My bathtub is a little big and this is after I cut it in half. We learn from our mistakes. BC, White chocolate modeling clay bubbles and the baby and duckie are not edible. Thanks for comments. This is my 5th cake to actually sell.

Many thanks to Meghan89 and ellepal whose cakes inspired this one and who each generously shared instructions for the techniques. Mini bear and 9 x 13 layers were lemon cake with Italian meringue "buttercream" flavored with limoncello. Decorations are of fondant and of gumpaste with mini-marashmallow "bubbles".

I had really wanted to try doing this 'wood' look. I used a toothpick to make wood grain then filled it in with food coloring. The cake is just all white with bc in between, the blue and green is mmf, the barrel bath is wilton fondant, bubbles and ferns all bc. Since I am fairly new at this, everyone was totally impressed...including me!

I had fun making this cake for my god-son's bath after baptism party (it's an Armenian tradition to give the baby a bath two days after his christening). The figures are MMF, the tub is carved cake covered in MMF, and the water is buttercream. The rest of the cake is covered in white chocolate (tinted blue).

I liked my last version of this cake so much I decided to do it again! Three 9 x 13 carrot cakes stacked and the mini-bear in orange cake. Grand Marnier IM "buttercream" and fondant decorations. "Bubbles" are mini-marshmallows.

I thought I'd have a go at this cake.I've seen a few on CC and they're all great. I only went from other photos that I'd seen on this site.
This is a chocolate cake w/choc buttercream.I made the outside of the bath, mat, man, tap (faucet) and bubbles from fondant. The water and writing is in buttercream. I've never used a piping bag before so my writing isnt very good. The more I practice, the better I get...i hope

My niece/goddaughter's birthday, I thought I would surprise her with this cake. I saw some bathtub cakes on this site and thought this would be an ideal cake for her since she enjoys bubble baths. The cake is the 3d-durable recipe from this site and BC with fondant accents. It was fun making it, thought I didn't do too bad...just gotta keep practicing!!!

I made this cake for my Gradma Bird's 88th birthday and literally constructed the Bird family tree. In addition to having the last name "Bird," she's an avid bird watcher, so I included a bird feeder, bird bath and birds feeding along the ground. The cake is covered in MMF. The tree was molded from cake crumbs mixed with buttercream then iced over in royal icing. Birds and nests are MMF. Bird bath is royal icing (with a royal icing covered pretzel stick base) filled with colored piping gel for water.

Just finished this one. It's a vanilla buttercake, filled with caramel and cream.
Board covered in fondant, bubbles in buttercream, and everything else is gumpaste.
Design is from this website, lots of these cakes around. The bubbles were piped with tip 3 in buttercream, and then flattened with a cornflour covered finger ; )

Cake for my sons 12:th birhday. I always make a themecake for my children and since we have had the most extraordinary summer in Sweden, at least as I have experienced, with trips to the lake and/or sea several times a day, it was easy to pick out this years theme.... Maybe I should have made it more sea-like but I was inspired by an english decorator Lorraine Maccay...

I am extremely disappointed, but decided to post anyhow. I'm satisfied with the topper, but hate the cake. I prefer bc icing that is mostly butter and know that I can't get it perfectly smooth, but this cake is a mess. I could have done more to try to improve it, but I've given up. Oh well, it's the thought that counts. I know it will taste good. Almond cake with strawberry bc filling, and bc icing.

I’ve just got back from a Maisie Parrish workshop. The project was “Baby in the bath and the cat has fallen in”. It got a bit battered on the flight home, never mind it was a great day.

I was up all night making this cake...but I feel it was worth it! It was created for a western and rubber ducky themed baby shower. The men, women and children were all invited. The tables were decorated in denim with red bandana runners. In the center of the tables were mason jars, decorated with rubber ducks and filled with daisies. So, I got all the elements in the cake. It was a huge hit when I dropped it off!

10" Franch vanilla cake torted and filled with raspberry mousse. Iced with Rich's Whipped topping. Bubbles made from fondant and then dusted with Super Pearl lustre dust. No time to hand mold the duckies so they are rubber. Based on an idea from the Wilton 2003 Yearbook.

This was for a 1st birthday. Frosted in buttercream. Bubbles are made from sugar coated cocoa puffs, the bath is made from sugar cookie which I covered in a sugar frosting. Brush made from a caramel chew and yellow sprinkles for the bristles. Towel and face cloth made from candy chews.

I used the large 1/2 egg shaped pan turned upside down for the tub. It is on it's own cardboard w/ dowels underneath. The girl is just the mini ball pan. I piped all the bubbles out of BC and added edible glitter but I've also done the bubbles using icing and white gumballs. It's hard to come by just white gumballs though. The rug is made using the grass tip. All decorations are BC. Thanks for Looking!!
