A very special baby shower cake to celebrate the new arrival...
This cake features a hand modeled baby made entirely from sugar dough. She sits atop a sculpted "pillow" cake, decorated with white chocolate ribbon roses, ribbon and lace.

This was a baby shower cake for a mom who is a polynesian dancer. They wanted a tropical themed cake, so I created this oval-shaped cake accented with cookies in tropical shapes. The baby's blankie is made of fondant and the "sand" is brown sugar.

As usual with me, another rushed cake. I must admit, there are 2 things I cannot achieve: making ruffles and roses.

This goes wit the stork cake. Daddy was given a shower at his work (a police officer).

It says. "Congratulations on the successful swim!" It has sperm swimming around. Those are also supposed to be little sperm on the border.

The guy that ordered this asked for a baby shower cake but something "manly." I had seen a version of this on another site over a year ago and wanted to do it.

This cake was made for a girl who is decorating her baby's room with the Noukies characters. They are an imported brand. Rare finds but they sure make cute cakes

I made this shower cake for a co-worker- who had been trying many times to get pregnant (and going through much heartache in the process) was a expecting a little girl. I had a lot of fun putting my heart and soul into this cake design. I also got a lot of compliments at work on it- so the late night hours on this cake (see the thread in cake disasters called "Holy Cake....sort of" to get part of the story on this cake) was well worth it!!!

This is a better picture- 5 individual cakes covered in rolled fondent, royal icing swirls, gum paste letters & symbols and trimmed with buttercream. The zebra blocks are painted w/ food color. I alternated choc. cake (zebra) and white cake both w/ strawberry cream cheese marshmallow filling ;0)

I made this for a baby shower where my daughter teaches 1st grade. The credit for the pattern goes to Amylou who posted her cake pic a couple weeks ago. She posted and the next day I got a plate with the theme which was a clothesline. It was a big hit, thanks Amylou. Anyway since my daughter was putting all the gifts she'd bought into a wicker laundry basket I made a big oval cake and did it in a basket weave, my first attempt, to match her basket. I'm pleased with the result.

This was a cake for a baby's Christening. The baby is plastic, however I glued a piece of fabric onto the baby and then piped a basket weave on top of the cloth to look like a blanket. The cake is covered in whipped cream and the spray of flowers is colored whipped cream. The writing was done in blue gel.

I made this for my son's first birthday. The inscription says, Patty Cake Patty Cake, Bakers Son, Lets All Jump For Joy, Xavier is One. My handwriting came out horrible...but it went fast, so no one noticed :)

This is a simple cake I made for a baby shower at my daughter's school. I made a lot for them last year and wanted them each to be totally different since all the same people would be seeing it. That was a challenge. But I love using my oval pan sometimes instead of the usual rectantular, and a two- tone cake looks good for a baby shower. I made the blocks with candy melts. The cake is just classic white with buttercream icing.

This was a heart shaped cake to go along with the Noah's ark cake. Owen was born 4 weeks premature, but when you look at him now you would never guess because he is the same height as his older brother who is 2 years older than him.

This is the cake I made for my cousin's baby shower. It was a gift so I didn't have any restrictions. I had seen the little shoes on the internet somewhere, and came up with the design for the cake. I thought it turned out really cute and is one of my best cakes.
