Wedge shaped white cake with apple filling iced in BC. Notebook made of fondant with tylose and notebook paper is rice paper. I kicked the teacher out of her classroom for about 10 minutes and had the kids each write something nice or just happy birthday on a piece of rice paper with edible ink. I then "filled" the notebook with these pages. Pages are held together with floral wire. Cake is accented with gum paste flowers.

This was my first attempt at a FBCT. It was a cake for my mom's 50th birthday. It is only the third cake I have ever decorated so I was very satsified. It was a four layer german chocolate cake with coconut pecan frosting between layers and BC covering. Any tips and advice would be very helpfull.

I made this for my mother when she turned 50. This was only like the 3rd cake I'd ever done, but she was happy with it. Well, I don't really think she liked it when we lit all 50 of those candles!!

I made this cake for my husband's 40th birthday. At the party I added some silver "curvy sticks" that made it look like a volcano exploding. I forgot to take a good picture of it of course! You can view other cakes on my website at www.OCakes.com Thanks for looking!

Now this cake was a lot of fun to make. I cut the body out of a slab cake then I used the base ball pan for the breasts. I made my own marshmallow fondant for the skin and did the rest in buttercream. It was for a 40th birthday party

Chocolate fudge cake with Creamy Dreamy Buttercream icing. I used a 9 x 13 and 8 inch round to make this cake. I took a lot of inspiration from traci, on this site. I was very pleased with the outcome on this cake, even got the writing pretty straight!!

This is a 12" white cake with White Buttercream Icing topped with approx. 50 roses. There's a Wilton book that has a similar cake on the cover with 2 shades of pink roses. I made that one a week prior to this one. My aunt wanted a white cake with red roses and so I chose the same design because I wanted to see the pink one in another color.

My take on the Wilton "Time Keeps Slipping Away" cake. Couldn't find the Wilton candle, so I had to improvise...tombstone is fondant with a regular candle in the center.

I had to do two 1/2 sheets for a lady. Everyone in the family with an August birthday had their name and date written on the cakes. The scallop is a fbct. I sprinkled Crystal Dust to give it a sparkle.

A chocolate chip cake with chocolate buttercream filling was the foundation for this whimsical design. For a woman's 70th birthday, her daughter requested something whimsical and youthful.
