My first tiered cake. All buttercream. 6" round-chocolate, 8"-white, 10"-marble. It was a cake adventure, but I love how it turned out and the customer was very pleased. The actual anniversary couple were surprised, as they didn't know this type of cake was being made for them. The 1/4 sheet cake is also posted. My story is posted on the forum.

I didn't really take my time with this for assorted reasons and it shows. I think my accents are too thick and either my wire is too thick or my accents were too heavy & thick, they were pulling down the wire, I think it was a combination of both. Any advice, feel free....

I made this to go with the baby's room. Matching those colors was HARD, and I don't think I'm all that close. Strawberry and chocolate cakes with white chocolate buttercream, fondant accents and bow. Supposed to look like the room here: http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/coc/coc711033.html

I was given creative license to make a cake for 2 ladies who were expecting in a study group. So I decided that I was tired of always smoothing out frosting. I decided to go with the purposely peaky look. I made a bunch of fondant molds of baby stuff in different colors to go on the cake. Aside from my writing being a tad boring (font) and the icing having teeny bubbles in it, I'm pleased. The pic isn't that clear. It's really pale green frosting with lite blue writing. Chocolate with cherry filling

Well here it is! My FIRST paid wedding cake. Based off a photo from A Piece of Cake in Fort Lauderdale, FL, provided by bride. I'm very pleased with the outcome and thanks to all here at CC who enlightened me to rolling out fondant with the help of Crisco. I was really sweating that bottom petal tier. Sizes are 15, 12, 8, and 6". It took close to 2 and a half hours to hand glue all those dragees but the overall cake turned out really nice. Haven't heard from the bride yet...hope she was thrilled.

Based on a Wilton design. Rather than using the plastic separator ring that the design called for the bride opted to have it made of real cake.

I had to do a pirate ship in icing with the plastic figures. So I decided to try to dress it up a lttle bit. All the treasures in the chest are edible. the cannonballs, sharkfins, parchment on the beach and the plank are all MMF. The beach is the same marble cake with Dream BC and graham crumbs for the sand. The ship is marble cake with chocolate frosting.

Made using the old pan, but instead of using the plastic faceplate, I molded a fondant piece and drew in the features with food markers. Fondant skin, belt, breastplate, and stars all fondant, dusted/painted with luster dust.

This was my first and probably my last mmf covered cake. Making the mmf was fairly easy, but getting it smooth on the cake was a different story. Tomorrow is mine and hubby's 13th anniversary so this was a "practice, just for the fun of it, cake"
