This is a cake I decorated for my little girls 1st bithday, I used ready-to-roll fondant icing to make roses & circles which I coloured. The butterflies and small yellow flowers were packeted ones from a supermarket. ( first time doing a two layer cake and roses).

Made for a 1st birthday tea party! The teacup is the smash cake, a 2" on top of a 4" cake. The tepot was the sports ball on top of an 8" double. All cakes were strawberry with a cream cheese filling covered in mmf. The mom of the bday girl was absolutely floored when cake showed up...sister made an executive decision and changed order from a number one cake to the teapot. I heard raves were made about it! Yeah!

Pink and Purple Birthday cake for a 1st birthday party. The cake is frosted with Buttercream and has mmf accents. The #1 is made from mmf and painted with purple petal dust. This is a knock off of some of boween's beautiful creations. Thanks to everyone for all of your tips. This site is AUsome!!!

My daughter of four has taken such an interst in my cakes and always wants to help so she sat down yesterday with some fondant colored it and made these rose buds all by herself. SHe announced she was done and this is what she came up with. I am quite proud of her and she would love to hear your comments. She is doing a cake this week to put them on so I hope to post that soon.

This is a cake I did for my friend Hilary's daughter. They postponed the party since I was out of town when they had it slated, so I did an extra big one for her, and did her favorite, Elmo!

This was my sons 1st birthday cake-and my very first 3-D cake! I have always just made sheet cakes, but I wanted this one to be special for my baby. Thanks to the suggestions on this site, it came out so great! I used b/c frosting and Wilton dome cake pans for the body, black jellybeans and pink nilla wafers for the face, and red pipe cleaners and red craft puff balls for the antennae. I also made a matching smash cake. Thank you all for all your help!

This was the matching smash cake for the caterpillar cake-this was my first attempt at sculpting with fondant. The characters were SO MUCH work, they took at least an hour each. Everyone thought I was nuts, but I really enjoyed doing it. The characters came out bigger than I had originally wanted, but everyone oohed and ahhed over it-that is before my son got ahold of it! :) Thanks all for the suggestions!

My son had two birthday parties...this was the second cake I made. My very first attempt at fondant (MMF). It certainly wasn't easy -- to say the least! I had so much more planned for this cake, but after rolling out the fondant for what seemed to be about a bijillion times, I didn't have time to do much else. The Elmo is a FBCT, border is BC and the accents/polka dots are fondant. Just need some practice.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. I used the sports ball cake pan for each of the sections, using a double cake for the head. The antennae were tricky. I stuck toothpicks in the head and piped thick frosting over them. Then I froze the curly tops and stuck those into the tops of the toothpicks. It was a great hit for my daughters first birthday!

Thank you so much, kiddiekakes, for allowing me to use your cake as inspiration for this cake. The mom of the little girl absolutely LOVED it!!! She was SO excited!
This was for a little girl's 1st birthday and mom wanted Princess! I ended up making it an 8 inch round on top of a 10 inch round. I really enjoyed making this cake! It was my first time to make a royal icing tiara, and I LOVED making it!! Can't wait to make another one! Thank you to all of you that submitted templates in the gallery.

I made this for my son's first birthday after getting the idea off of another site. I used the sports ball pan to make the cakes and simply decorated it using the basic "star" method. The colors were all very bright, so I made them a day ahead of time to let the color develop. I'm happy with the way it turned out even though I forgot to add the feet! Doh!

Based on design from another cc'er. Loved the frogs and they were so easy to make. The party theme was frogs and pink...just like the child's nursery. Made a coordinating smash cake with tiny chocolate molded green frogs too. Cake is iced in BC with fondant accents. Number is made from gumpaste. Name and bows are fondant.

I am finally getting around to letting my daughter do her cake we posted the roses she made a while back and I finally had a week without a cake so she could do hers. She is four. She chose the cake shapes and colors. She did the decorating and placement herself. I of course had to help her with the bag. She couldn't hold it and squeeze it at the same time. The rest is done by her. She would love to hear what you think. She was so excited to finally get to do it. Thanks for looking

Lemon Pound Cake with raspberry filling. Buttercream icing with fondant decorations. Last night they told me they would have to hold off on this cake because their little girl had the flu....and then this morning at 9am I got a call saying, "Please bring the cake anyways!" That was a fast decorating job!
