Here I am again...the color mixing challenged....I want a cranberry color icing..I've been mixing reds and pink to no avail...and have gone through almost an entire batch of buttercream..anyone have any ideas??

I would try burgundy with a touch of Blue

I agree with kiddiekakes - you need blue in there, but I'd start with red and either add some violet or the TINIEST bit of blue.

It came out purple....the shade I want is cranberry...the color of the cranberry luster dust....

the burgundy and blue came almost a purple color...I'll try the red and the blue...

Here is a link to a color mixing chart...bad news is that it includes EVERY color but cranberry! Sorry! It may give you some ideas though!

The burgundy already has blue in it, you can't start with a color that's purpler. Start with red and mix in a little violet, maybe even burgundy for a very slight purple tint.

You may also want to try a little drop of yellow for brightness. Don't know if that will help.
