I would like to know when you use the non dairy whipped topping mixed with BC for your filling, does that need to be refrigerated? The Kahlua Raspberry Cream filling recipe on here, would that need refrigeration all the time, or how long could the cake be out if that was used? Thanks

I took cool whip, mixed it with pureed strawberries and some buttercream and used it as a filling. I did not refrigerate the cakes, and it turned out ok. It did soak into the cake a little so I think next time I would put a thin layer of buttercream on the bottom layer so that it would not soak in as much. Everyone at the wedding loved it, the father of the bride told me that they had the cake sitting out for a coupel of days on the counter and it still tasted good, and he did not say that he got sick from it.

if its a NON Dairy you should not have to keep it in the frig...

NOT knowing what all is in your recipe I cant tell you for sures...

As for whipped cream you would not want it out in the heat or in the direct sun.. I know that whipped cream does have to be keep in the frig...

Hope this helps...

Great, thanks for the information. The cake is for Saturday, inside, and non dairy whipped topping. I had a strawberry filling mix to use and I tasted it last night....BLAHHHHHHK, it was horrible! So now I'm going to try something different. Thanks again, everyone is so helpful on here and I appreciate any tips and advice given. icon_smile.gif
