taking a class in calligraphy tonight...never used rice paper before...even if i just used the doodling pens for cookies...can i write on rice paper and just place this onto cake...when should i place the rice paper on the cake...should i trim the rice paper...pipe around the edges...

I've cut the paper with scissors, and used the edible ink markers on them.
