Hi all! I have baked and carved a flat sheet cake into the shape of a vase of flowers. The vase will be very pale blue with a pink satin ribbon "tied" around the neck of the vase. Now, I would have liked to use sugar lilies (bought) to place on the top part of the cake for the bouquet with piped buttercream leaves....but the customer wants all buttercream flowers just flat/piped on. What's the best way to achieve the look of a lily by piping it on?
I appreciate any help anyone could give me! I'm ready to start decorating the floral part and have no idea what/how to do it!

Whew..that's a toughy! All I can think of is a large rose petal tip...that is not much help, I know!
just had a thought...what if u use crusting bc and use the large rose tip and pipe in around a parchment ppr cone and let it dry for a few days in the fridge and then once it crusts thuroughly, wouldn't it be like a 3d lilly...you could also put the stamen with yellow icing and a tip 5 or 12 and add some cake sparkles to make the center shiny...
i like how when i use this forum, i end up answering my own questions..lol
anyone have any thoughts on this? (the lily, not my brain)
I am not sure if I can post a scanned page from one of my cake decorating books that shows pics with instructions on how to pipe flowers in buttercream onto a cake. They wouldn't look like what you would get with royal icing and a lily nail tho. What do you say moderator? If I can't post it, send me a pm, I know I can email them to you.
