Well I finally decided on the name I want to use for my business but now how do I market myself? I've decided on Just for you... Desserts for all occasions. Please let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for getting my name out there.

I really like the name. How about making up some flyers and putting them up around town? See if some of your friends that own businesses would let you hang them up there. Maybe bring a cake by some businesses with a pricelist? I work at a car dealership and I know our employees would go nuts over that. HTH and good luck!

I'd also suggest printing flyers up and placing them around town. Also, you may want to print some business cards and see if some of the local florists would let you place them in there business. Flowers, weddings, cakes.... they all go together. I am currently in the third course of my Wilton classes and I send my practice cakes (and I make alot of them) to work with my husband. I've gotten two definite orders for Thanksgiving and another person wanting me to make their wedding cake as soon as they set the date. Word of mouth and just letting a few people see your work goes along way. Just since I have started my classes and I've made a total of six cakes for family, 2 for friends and 3 for strangers to me but were friends of a friend of mine who saw my cakes and told them about me. And I've only been decorating cakes for 8 Weeks! So,get out there and show a few people what you can do, post flyers and before you know it, you'll have orders rolling in!
