Hi, all!

I need to make my fondant a Halloween purple. I have the violet paste but that is not the right shade. What 2 colors do I put together to achieve that particular purple?

Thanks!

Purple is really hard to get in a bigger quantity of fondant. You'll dye it, kneed it and then it goes purple...purple...purple...blue...blue????

I've tried adding tons of purple OR red & blue in mass quantities, but it has only been Americolor that solved the Red, Purple, Black problems.

I like to finish everything in white and then paint it. Wilton has a great spray color in purple that might work for you.

Wilton has a color chart for making colors and one for icings and fondant etc.
this may help

If coloring fondant is anything like coloring royal then I would use blue and pink to get purple. When I was making my parents' anniversary cake(Fondant) it took me forever to get purple and when I finally did, it looked more like blue. Then when I colored my royal I used pink instead of red with blue and I got such a nice purple!! Maybe you can add a bit of red also to get the color you're looking for. I'm not sure if my advice was right but I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong. Hope I helped
