I bought a 3 tiered cake pan and it is smaller then what I thought, only about 41/2 inced tall total, bottom tier is about 101/2 in. and top is around 4 in. I am wondering if I could seperate the tiers and fill them and would I need to add support when putting it back together?

Or could I bake 2 of these and seperate all the tiers and then end up with 3 layer cakes and put them back together as one bigger cake,
I am also going to have the mini stand up bear on the top and I'm pretty sure I'll need support for it

Hope I made myself clear about what I'm wanting to do.

I think I know the pan you are talking about. It sure does sound like a pain to have to cut each of those tiers off the cake and the tiers aren't very thick anyway. I guess you separate each of them, I wouldn't see why not?! Just seems like it would be very hard to get each even and especially if you bake 2. And you would need dowels or other support when putting them back together again, since they are all filled separately.

I bought the same pan! As a matter of fact my daughter just baked a cake in it tonight. It took quite a while. I wondered if it would do better with a heating core. Im pretty sure it would. I just got it for a very small wedding cake, which I do lots of for the quickie little marriages here at the beach. My daughter is going to decorate this one herself, Im so excited she is showing some interest in this.
And back to the pan....I dont think I would do all that cutting and filling...
It would be hard to get it all placed back together right. I would stick to the regular pans for filling.
I also bought a shell pan. I made the most awesome chocolate cake. I took a pastry bag and poked it in the cake, and made little "pockets" of raspberry, and covered in chocolate ganache...oh my. Hey, maybe you could put a filling in the 3 tier that way. Just a suggestion, worked out good for me last night. My cavities are still screaming!

Maybe I could just cut the top tier off, I'm going to use it for my son's 1st birthday and I want to use the top as his smash cake. I'm going to make one in a couple days and see what I can do with it.
Thanks!
