I have 3 orders due by Monday icon_confused.gif The first 2 are simple, just cupcake cakes, but the one due for Saturaday is a 1/4 sheet. I have already started preparing some of my fondant accents that will go on the paint. How soon can I make the cake, ice, and decorate? I normally don't have that many orders back to back. I already have 1 cupcake cake done that is due tomorrow. I have put my fondant accents for the 1/4 on wax paper and painted them. Ok so I am rambling here are my questions so you can understand them...LOL

This is for the 1/4 due on this Saturday
1. How soon can I make the 1/4, ice, and decorate?
2. What is the best way to store my painted fondant accents..(they will actually be on the cake when delivered)
3. Can I just make the cake, ice, decorate, and put all my fondant accents on it and put it in the cake box with the lid closed?

TIA
Beth

icon_sad.gif ..you poor thing! I'm sorry your post has gone unanswered but glad to hear about all your orders!

Yes, yes, and yes! By all means get started with your cakes. I bake as soon as possible and if I don't need the cake for a few days, I put it in the freezer, in a zipper bag (I think it actually adds to the moistness of the cake!) until the day I need it and then thaw it on the counter while it is still wrapped!

I usually don't add the fondant decorations until the day before I need the cake..any longer than that and I'm afraid the decorations will start to get flimsy!

Ok, now...go get started!! thumbs_up.gif HTH!!

TY for answering me!!! icon_wink.gif I didn't make the cake yet, but I did get my fondant accents done and painted. It is a little after 11pm, and I have to deliver an order in the morning so I will start baking it tomorrow. Is it ok to decorate it with everyting except the fondant and leave it in the fridge until I need to pull it out and put the fondant on? TY again for responding thumbs_up.gif
