well, we finally got our power back and I"m of course back on cc..lol

I just wanted to say that as a hard core baker a little thing as a Hurricane was NOT going to keep me from baking.

We got a hand mixer, like the kind us older folks grew up with and I made my Paula's Loaded Oatmeal cookies!

I changed a few things in the recipe...I added maple flavor to the burnt butter icing..too.

It was too funny, I looked like the MAD BAKER OF MIAMI...beating my batter by hand.

At least we still had our stove..it's gas, so all my neighbors got cookies.

The first batch I made before the power went out...I took to our local police station, since I didn't know how long some of them would be on duty..and able to eat anything...I gave them the first 5 dozen cookies!

I like my "adapted" version better and THOSE...will forever be called HURRICANE WILMA COOKIES!

Ha..it was eighter that or me getting sick from eating them all..lol

So..it wasn't kindness at all..

There is a motto I live by..

"Dear God, if you can't make me skinny..please make all my friends FAT!

ha, the little itty bitty "city" I live in...I think they already "know" me...I drive all over the 'burg in my school uniform..as I forget I"m wearing that white bag..lol..I drive by the 2 police cars that make the rounds in my area and I get "funny" looks from them..lol

So far..haven't been stopped....but...that uniform sure hides all the pounds that I've gained! I cannot bEEEEEEEEEEElieve that I've put on over 35 pounds since I started school..ugh.

LIVING WELL LADY...time to renew my membership!
