When i color fondant pearls with luster dust do i have to add clear vanilla extract to the luster dust or do i color them dry with the luster dust?

That is usually what I do, I tend to use a drop of cheap vodka instead of vanilla, because the alcohol seems to evaporate and dry more quickly than vanilla.
