Ok!OK! I know the CC family has exhausted this issue, but I'm having trouble understanding Steps 7&8 are confusing me!

Step 7- When you have finished coloring in your graphics, smooth the back while gently pushing w/o blending.
SO I'M SUPPOSE TO TURN THIS OVER? WON'T IT GET MESSED UP?

Step 8-......... Cover the back evenly?
I MIGHT BE DUMB, BUT I DON'T KNOW! ONCE AGAIN I FLIP IT OVER?

I think my main concern is messing it up when I'm done filling it in! icon_cry.gif

Thank you so much for helping if you can!!!!!!!!

No, you don't flip it over ever. You build from the back to the front. Meaning you fill in the outlines, then on top of that you fill in outlined areas, and then you do the background on top of all that.

Hope that makes sense. So, when you're done, the front is face down and you're seeing the back (the part that will attach to the cake).

Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Sorry, I meant you build FRONT to BACK. Sorry, I got in a hurry.

the part you're seeing is the back. When you've done all the steps, including freezing, THEN you turn it over, and that's your front.....you just need to do it once, and you'll get the hang of it. icon_smile.gif

Oh yeah, you do flip over to get it on the cake, but that's it. Sorry about that.

let me see, this is what I do:

- I outline my picture
- I color in the design
- I fill in the background all around the design
- I pipe over the entire picture and background with a nice thick layer of icing trying to keep it the same depth all over
- I then lay a piece of wax paper on top of this (large enough to cover the entire area of the BCT). I now have wax paper on both sides of the BCT.
- I gently press my fingers down on the wax paper to make sure that the icing fills in any air pockets - very gently because you don't want to smear your picture on the bottom of the icing layer
- I then take another board and sandwich the BCT between the two and flip it over.

***You have to make sure your tape is either cut or peeled off before you flip it (I prefer to use a razor and just cut through mine) in order for the paper to come away from your board you started with.

I bought those little clay plastic tools thingies. They look like little white plastic spatulas and are kind of flexible. One of the spatula is pointed. I use this one to gently push the BC into place. I also have a squared piece of plexi glass which I use instead of a cuttingboard or cardboard, so I can look at the actual BCT after it is done (I gently pull out the template) icon_smile.gif
