Well, I made them. Like the old fashioned oatmeal better. the only difference between is the butter milk..I made sure to taste test them....after about..oh...3 or 4...or a dozen..lol

I'm so sick now...!

I made the icing...

I think I will add a little maple flavor to the brown butter icing...

the cookie is much improved by the icing, but since we are a health concious family...I tried not to over load the cookie with the glaze..but I think that the maple flavor will so compliment this cookie.

Ok..now the next cookie flavor..lol

PS: I hope I didnt' offend anyone...everyone has different taste buds!

My family is teasing me, they are .."there's a Hurricane coming and you're baking cookies? what are you going to do?? Stand on the evacuation road and sell them?

SO ...now these are re-christened ....Hurricane Cookies!

We figure if we lose power or get flooded...we have these cookies..lol

Hi PastyDiva,

You make me laugh!! Seriously though, living in Houston metroplex area, I now know exactly how you Floridians feel everytime a hurricane blows through...and frankly, I think you guys must have nerves of steel!!

I was one of the thousands that was stuck in traffic for over 12hrs (drove only 60 miles to a place that normally takes me an hour) with 2 dogs, 2 kids (3 & 5) and a car that overheated and almost ran out of gas, in 100-105 degree weather. We gave up and drove to a friends' house and then came back home the next day before the hurricane blew through. All in all, I can't really complain because the hurricane veered away from us and affected so many in East Texas and Lake Charles, LA. It was an adventure none the less!

Hope you guys are safe and sound and take care of yourselves.

We have gotten so jaded by all this weather, that we don't even blink an eye anymore! At first...everyone one runs around like a chicken without a head..bumping into things and buying everything off the supermarket shelves! Emptying the gas pumps...

But after the third one....we are like...if we don't see patio furniture and the neighbors Buick fly past the windows...we don't even put up our shutters.

The only thing is..that I'm in a flood zone being just 2 blocks from the beach..and the 1st one ..the beach is the back yard so I can say that I"m basically across from the water!

Every time it rains...we get sooo darned flooded!...we were soooo in style down here we didn't even know it! We walk around with our pants cuffed up to our knees..

And you know WHY Floridians wear flip flops?

They are easy to kick off in 5 inches of water and put in your back pocket.lol!

Sorry to hear about your "car trip" that so sucked! I drove down from NY to FL and had my 2 cats in the car....they wouldn't SHUT UP! and I had to listen to them in STEREO!

FISHER!!

WAITING ON FEMA? I'd have to build a gingerbread house and move into that before FEMA gets around to doing what needs to be done.

All that protocol and red tape! and the kicker is that they get to stay at the NICEST hotels! racking up thousands ...

Now, if it's up to me...I'd put them up the the most stormed damaged house..and you'd see how fast those FEMA checkbooks would be flying out of the goverment's pockets..

FLYING CHECKS..woo hoo!

Advent...when I uploaded my AVITAR..it has a more..erm...fluid motion..lol...now it's an HYPERACTIVE CAT!

But so me with mine. They are all sleeping in their "hurricane" positions...they actuallly are sleeping on their heads!! and in the No-No zone.....MY BED!

arggggggggggggggggggg!...get off get off get off.

*DIVA scattering 1/2 sleep cats out of room!
