I am looking to do a Bob the Builder/ Tractor/ something BOYISH for my 2 year olds birthday, preferably 3d? Does any one have some inspirational photos or ideas?
Thank you!!!
I didn't do a Bob the builder but I've done two John Deere cakes in my photos. Hope they help.
Thanks Lexi,
Do you think this is all in fondant? I have never tried fondant before ... any tips would be great.
Thanks again!!
.Hi NickyA.
Well I've done a Bob the Builder cake for my youngest son but it's not uploaded to my album because it was a cake I did a few years ago before I really started wanting to decorate cakes. I'll have to dig through my photos and scan it in.
I made a dirt road out of finely crushed graham cracker and a little bit of brown sugar mixed in.....I made the road have a like a little hill for Bob's little bull dozer to push throughLOL.......I used mini pretzel sticks for stacked wood and since like I said I really wasn't into cake decorating yet I bought the little toy bob and his bulldozer and put those on the cake and I put a toy wooden fence around the back of the cake..........It was really cute but if I ever did another bob the builder cake I would mold Bob, his bull dozer and fence from MMF instead of buying the toys.LOL The road and pretzel stacked wood was neat looking though.LOL

(my last names intial is A too.just had to tell you that. hahaha)
I have a fbct of a john deere in my gallery. BUT someone just posted directions on how to make a 3d tractor cake sometime recently, maybe last week? I think the title was 'tractor cake' or something. It believe she might have used loaf pans?
Thanks Nicky for the suggestions for the cake. The log pile sounds great. Your cakes are beautiful. I have just started this new passion of mine so I have a lot to learn
PS: Not many Nicky's have a Y ... nice to meet one!
