Ok, this is the first time my stuff didnt get to me in time... I have four cakes to do this weekend. I ordered stuff from Wilton over 3 weeks ago and it hasnt arrived.... thank goodness I have all but one thing, I just needed more... I need black.... what colors will get me the best black quickly? I am hoping I made enough of every other color if not I am poop out of luck. Thank goodness only one cake is one I am being paid for, the other three are for a going away party for a good friend and her family, and its one single layer 9x13 and two single layer 6 inch cakes.
OK so which colors to make black.... of course I will look to see if our commissary has black icing gel, and I will use chocolate to start off the black.

Start with a mix of the primary colors, red, blue & Yellow (or varieties of these), and then add a drop or two of black gel as needed...
But you don't have any left...O dear..

Does the commissary have the tubes of ready to use icing in black? If so, take a tube of that and add it to some chocolate/brown colored icing?

Just a thought...

you might want to start with store bought chocolate frosting and then adding the primary colors.

In a color mixing chart that I have it says to mix royal blue, christmas red, orange and lemon to get black. I hope this helps!

I'm so sorry you had such a hard time!!! I know that this really does suck being overseas and not being able to just walk in to various supply stores and get what we need. I get so frusterated...but what can we do but order online, beg the Bx to carry more, have fam/friends send it to us or just scream and cry!!!! Hey I know...Take a hop to England and buy up all of our skill center's supplies icon_smile.gif
