They ordered a wedding cake from me, I havave never used MMF before, but the regular one it's so expensive, that I don't know what to do.

What do you recommend?
Is it easier to work with regular store-bought fondant or do you recommend the MMF?

Thanx

I find MMF very easy to make and work with ...I love the taste as well...especially when I add flavorings..... It rolls out the same and works the same for me and actually a fresh batch is often better then the store bought because I have to knead that for awhile to get it pliable again.....
Try it on a small cake .....the homade batch vs the store bought.....so you can see for yourself, many have differnt veiews on this and it is just a matter of taste.... since Ive switched to MMf I get lots and lots of orders for it.... i never use the store bought.

I'm a commercial fondant gal... I tried MMF once and did not like it. I second the recommendation of trying both and seeing which one you like best. Satin Ice is a good brand of commercial fondant...It's the best tasting!! thumbs_up.gif

Of course I have to agree with my DW (lastingoments) I like the MMF (I like it better now she figured out she can make it in her Kitchen Aid so I dont have to knead it) I'm not a big fan of sweets and I dont think the taste is too overpowering. After making my first MMF cake every cake order after has been for it.

I sing the praises of MMF all the time. Go ahead make a batch and play with it. The greatest thing about MMF is that it cost so little to make that you can afford to play with it until you get it right. I love to add melted choc. to my MMF it gives it a great taste. If your making white add about 1/2 cup of melted white choc. while you are kneading it It is yummy and I like the texture with the choc. added. If you are making choc. fondant try adding melted semi-sweet chips instead very yummy. My three year old stands at the counter and begs for the scraps.

thank you so much, I'm gonna try both on a small cake like you suggested and I LOVE white chocolate, so I'm going to try that as well.

Thanx!!
