Betty Crocker definitely. I used to use either Betty Crocker or Pillsbury, but Pillsbury changed their formula about a year ago and every cake I baked would fall in the center. I contacted them and complained and they sent me.... you guessed it: coupons for their cake mix!!!!

DH

I think that they have a better selection in my local stores. Plus I recently had a bad experience with Pillsbury.

I use DH. Silly, but that's what my Mom always used when I was growing up and I just stuck with it!

I think it's all a matter of preference really... I've had no so good experiences with Duncan Hines cake mixes and with Betty Crocker too.. I've always found that Pillsbury rises better and doesn't fall in the middle ... but it's just a matter of preference icon_smile.gif

Pillsbury. I'd like to think it has nothing to do with my love for the doughboy growing up but...I did have a doll of him I carried everywhere.

I did only use PB. Then I went to the Wilton class and was told they only use and endorse DH. So I switched. I personly don't see much diff., however I had more taste great too, comments w/ PB than w/ DH.
Soo I buy which ever of the two is on sale.

I have a Friend that blieves that the plain ole store brand is just as good as any of the others,(I think she bumped her head)
But I love my DH!!
but I am Not Above Trying the others =0)

I really think its what ever works best for each person. Some stick with what they know is going to cook a certain way in a certain amount of time. I think that once your Comfy with that you hate to take a risk.

I pretty much like whatever is on sale of the three icon_smile.gif Right now I have a closet full of PB since they were on sale but I use them all and don't find too much of a difference except I don't think PB rises as high - but it is not a problem. usaribbon.gif

I can't respond to the poll because either way I answer is right and wrong.

I personally prefer Betty Crocker - I grew up with it, I love it. However, to me there's no cake that tastes more like a box mix, so I feel like if I make one to sell it will be a dead giveaway that I used a mix.

I don't use a mix for many of my cakes, just the white, but I always buy the DH.

If I'm making one for the family it will be BC.

I prefer Betty Crocker personally. I have had trouble with DH, and pillsbury. Plus, I can save the boxtops for the fundraiser at my daughter's school. They get a lot of boxtops from me each year. icon_lol.gif

Betty crocker stop doing the box tops. At least over here they did I even emailed them to let them know how much the box tops were going to be missed. They did respond back to say they might be bringing the box tops back.

So now I use what ever is on sale.

I 99.9% of the time use BC. Especially because it so cheap when you buy it at Target or Walmart. 78-88 cents. I do have to say I used Pillsbury yesterday because I wanted the Funfetti. Turned out good!! I think tht mixing the cake w/ a KA and following the mixing time instructions make a difference as well. Friends that eat my cake always ask is this home made boxed and how did you get it so moist.

I really don't see that much difference in how they bake. Sometimes it depends on the flavor as each has ones that the other doesn't have. My friend would only use BC Sour Cream White for her wedding cakes. When it is all said and done, my preference depends on what is on sale!!!!!!! I also save the points for school.
