I noticed at the bottom of the recipe it said you could add the Wilton melts. Could you use some vanilla in place of some of the water or will this mess with the consistency? Has anyone tried this? If so what about the flavor with/without vanilla added?
Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Without flavoring, the MMF tastes like marshmallows.

It is easy to add any flavor or color, by replacing some of the water with other liquids. If you use paste color, you probably won't need to adjust the water.

Hold out some of the powdered sugar so that you can adjust at the end.

Because I had left overs and I wanted to ajust the color of the clay, I have blended finished MMF and candy clay together for a product that is a bit softer and quite shiny and tasty.

I also like the taste of the MMF mixed with candy clay. It is delicious!

I made a batch last night and added cocunut extract to it. 2 tsp and the flavor was still faint, but yummy.

I really hate coloring fondant though. Too much work. I am making a birthday cake with primary color balloons and such so I had to color most of the fondant. Ugh!
