Bake Sale Ideas

I'm in my first semester of culinary school and joined the Hospitality Management Society. We're doing a bake sale in a couple of weeks and I've been asked to bring some of my recipes for cookies and they are going to sell a couple of my cakes. We're raising money for a spring trip.

Anyway, on to the question....Anyone with a super cookie recipe that would not be real labor intensive to bake and sell? I have some really good ideas, but there are so many great bakers on this site that I thought I would ask.

what kind of cookie? I think nestles choc chip cookie recipe is great and really easy to make and alot of people love choc chip...and then there is spritz cookies. I know I seen a recipe on here for sugar cookies....I will have to go and look.

I forgot about spritz. Those are my favorite cookies. Just trying to think of some different cookies. Something you don't see everyday...I'm sure someone will make chocolate chip. I think I will take the pumpkin cookie and icing recipe I saw on here yesterday also.

I have a recipe for what my family calls "monster cookies."...I'mnot sure what they are really called. They are made w/oatmeal, choco chips, m & m's, & nuts! VERY easy and are SOOOO good. I bring these to every potluck/bake sale and they always go over well. People always come back for more!!

Let me know if you'd like to try it.

One of my favorites right now is from Paula Deen...its called Paula's loaded oatmeal raisin cookie. The recipe makes a hube batch and they are sooooo easy (drop by spoonful) and delicious! You can get the recipe off of foodnetwork if you don't have her cookbooks.

For a school bake sale I think that an oatmeal raisin cookie is ideal.

Sugar, carbs and for the health OATMEAL..yuuuum...I"m going to the site myself...I'm such a pig..lol

I'm tellin' ya...these cookies ROCK! I've also made them with Splenda and nobody knew they were eating anything healthy! I can't keep these in my house when my kids come home...they scarf them up.

Got the recipe also..thanks...I guess I'll be adding them to my list of cookies to make this weekend...Brown Butter Icing...walnuts, raising...I think I will add some chocolate mini chips too..hahahah or mini m and m's to make them more kid friendly..

woo hoo..off to the supermarket I go!

I love craisin cookies. I hate raisins so I make an oatmeal cookie and add cranberries instead. Everyone loves them.

One of my favorite bake sale cookies is a peanut butter cookie (any recipie will do) put into a mini muffin pan, with bite size reeses cups pushed down in the middle. And with halloween so soon, you could probably find a big bag of mini reeses really cheep (esp. the day after halloween). They're really quick to make too. You just roll a little ball of PB cookie dough (I think about 1"), plop it in a greesed muffin cup, and push the unwraped reeses cup down so the cookie dough comes up the sides. Then bake them as usuall (or maybe a few minutes longer... not sure). Hope this makes sense. They usually sell really well because they are unusual looking, and familear at the same time, with the candy.

I found this recipe somewhere on the web and my kids beg me each week to make a double batch. These cookies are incredible!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 3 dozen

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1 (3.4 oz) pkg instant vanilla pudding
2 eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Sift together the flour and bakign soda, set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat in the insant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Edges should be golden brown.


Simple!

I found the pudding cookie on Recipezaar and tried it not too long ago. The cookies stay soft, but they do not taste like homemade. I tried using vanilla and chocolate pudding. The ones with chocolate pudding and PB chips had the best taste. Be sure to remove from oven as soon as the edges firm up in order for them to stay extra moist a chewy.

The PB reese cookies sound like they would be a big hit and they are very easy to make. It's been years since I've made a PB cookie. Thanks!
