That cake is absolutely gorgeous! I was going to put it into my favorites but it seems you don't have a photo album. You should. Beautiful job!

Soooo cute! I love the pearls along the bottom! Do you have to paint each one by hand??

Yes, I did each pearl by hand, without a mold. I have a pearl mold on order now, as that is alot of work!!! Before this cake I made pearls for my daughter's 21st birthday 3 tier cake. I did not paint the pearls, I molded the pearls from fondant into the balls and let them sit for awhile about an hour then I put them into a baggie with super pearl dust in the bag and shook them up. Worked nice.....

I totally agree with Sugar_plum_fairy, i would love to add this to my favorites!! Every little girl would love this as their cake. I will definately have to try and make my own version of this someday-of course it won't quite be as nice just yet. Excellent work.

OK I missed something here. What is Melivra's method? I could use some help smoothing out my buttercream. I don't like using the Viva because it almost always sticks to the icing. So what does Melivra do???????

When using Viva, let your cake sit for about 5 to 10 minutes before trying to smooth and make sure the kitchen is not warm ...i have turned the air on to make sure the cake starts crusting. And before using the Viva so a fingerprint test to see if it has crusted. But because you are in the kitchen and the heat from baking or the weather is not cool it will take longer to crust and the icing will stick to the viva.

But I have got to try this new smoothing method.

I also use the melivra method. If you put a viva on the top of the cake and then roll over it with the melivra roller, you won't get the marks from the edge of the roller.. BEAUTIFUL CAKE
