Can you freeze a cake that is still warm or does it need to be completly cooled first?

I let mine cool just enough so I don't burn myself, I wrap it in saran and I stick it in the oven. It might be all in my mind, but I think that seals in the moisture better. icon_rolleyes.gif

I think so too. I always freeze while still warm when I can.

I'm wanting to try this, but I am worried that the cake will stick to the saran wrap. My cakes tend to do this. Could I wrap it in parchment first, then saran wrap? Would that work???
