German Chocolate Decorating

Would like to know if anyone has any helpful tips for decorating a German Chocolate Cake. Do I first frost with german chocolate and then just decorate with buttercream? HELP!!! icon_cry.gif

When I do a German Chocolate cake I will either do the top or sides with the Pecan/Coconut Stuff then do the opposite in chocolate buttercream. Then I will add any decorations in chocolate buttercream.
