How do I add gold luster dust to mmf? icon_confused.gif

Do I paint it on or what? icon_confused.gif

I have not worked with any of the pwdered colors, are they better than the gels?

My cake supply store sells CK brands.

You'll need to paint it on. I think I've seen someone somewhere that mixes it in if it's a small amount, but that could also be BC or royal. Not sure.

I've never used the powdered colors. I'm using up my supply of Wilton stuff that I bought back before I knew there was another option, and replacing it with Americolor as I run out.

Not sure what your question is about CK. I've used a few of their products, seems like everyone on here likes them pretty well. I particularly like that they're not incredibly high priced.

As for the powdered colors,Do you mix them into your bc like you would the gels? icon_confused.gif

I am now replacing some of my colors and would like to know if they are any better. icon_smile.gif

Are they cost effective?

Wilton gel= 1.49

CK powdered=1.99

I asked my instructor about the powdered colors and she said they are better for candies and chocolate than icing. She said that the gel colors are really the best for icing.

I would guess this is a matter of preference perhaps, but I haven't tried them to find out.
