Help! I have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies and have no idea what to put on a cake for a lord of the rings fanatic. Please help me with some ideas

The characters would be rather hard to duplicate, however, I would think you could copy "The One Ring", maybe using Colorflow. Just an idea!

I have seen the cribbage sets on E-bay. They looks really cool. You could look there and it might give you some ideas.

Good Luck! I have always wanted to do a cake of Gandolf.

I recently saw a Minas Tirith wedding cake at a blog called cakefun - my dh wants to do this on a much smaller scale. This fortress looks like a 7-tiered wedding cake with little buildings on it. He's really into LOTR too so I might get the DVD special edition that comes with the figurine of Minas Tirith and put that on top instead. How much cake/servings were they thinking of? HTH

I would do a square cake and with a "Lord of the Ring", as it´s on all the movie posters, in colorflow or BCT. On top you can model the ring from MMf, but without the writing on it icon_biggrin.gif . Cover the cake in dark colors, maybe with little stones on the side.

Have fun doing the cake and remember to post a pic!

I thought about doing one of these for my brother...big LOTR fan. I was going to use the Wilton Wizard pan and turn him into Gandalf holding out the ring.

Yup - that's the one, although I think they only did 6 layers? I just need 2 more round pans the 5" and 7" to do all 7 layers. Lisa, I wish I lived near you - we need more LOTR fans around here!
