I hope this is not a dumb question but I want to make sure.

Those of you who have used Egg Beaters brand egg whites, on the box it says:

1 Whole Egg - 1/4 cup

1 Egg White - 2 tablespoons

If for example we are making a recipe for meringue (which I have already done but want to make sure I am seeing this right),
and it calls for 5 egg whites, I have been using the measurement of 2 tablespoons for each egg white.

Is that correct? icon_redface.gif

In other words, for a recipe that calls for 5 egg whites, I use the tablespoon measure instead of the 1/4 cup measure for a whole egg.

The tablespoon measure indicates that it equals to 1 egg white.

So, am I doing this right?

I have done a couple of recipes like this and they seem okay, but I just want to know if that's what you all do as well.

MariaLovesCakes, I just went to the frig and got my box of all egg whites and it says on the side of the carton,
3 tbsp= 1 large egg
1/3 cup= 2 large eggs
1/4 cup= 4 large eggs
hope this helps you out someicon_smile.gif

if you have a measuring cup that has ounces, then it's even easier...one egg white is 1 oz. icon_biggrin.gif

Great! I guess it doesn't matter which brand, right? Egg whites are egg whites, correct?

Thanks Antonia and irisinbloom! icon_biggrin.gif
