Thanks Missey, I did ask Jackie and she said it was not a good idea. Therefore I will not be offering the items, what she said made perfect sense to me.

sorry I didn't ask this before...I did it last week when someone wanted a video. Although, she made a great donation to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund and I mailed it to her at my own expense. icon_wink.gif

I just wanted to post an explanation for everyone as to why we decided this was not a good idea.

There are alot of scammers on the internet offering "free" items in order to lure you into some gimmick or to collect your personal information.

While we are confident that good36's offer was totally benevolent in nature, we did not want to set a precedent that might open the door to less honest people peddling their scams here. It would take a great deal of effort on the part of moderators and administrators to investigate each offer's validity in order to keep our community safe.

So basically we decided that it was best for the community to avoid any offering of products, free or otherwise, on the message board unless it is coming directly from CakeCentral.

I hope everyone understands that our first priority is to keep this place a safe haven for everyone in the community, and one way for us to accomplish this is to be proactive and forward thinking in the policies and precendents we set.
