Since a few of you seem interested I thought I would start a post on how I did my red lingerie cake. First I would like to give credit to www.cindascreativecakes.com . That is were I got the idea from.

The cake is three 8 inch and 2 mini balls. Two for the box and one for the top of the box. Here is the mini ball pan I used http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?sku=2105-1760

Top of the box:
I think the cake board for the top of the box needs to be smaller than the cake because you can tell I have a cake board under mine and you can't see one at cindascreativecakes. I could use advice on that. I covered it completely with fondant even under the board so the cake would not move. I don't know if this is the best method but I covered the cake in fondant as you normally would, flipped it over on my hand, set it down, and smoothed the extra fondant onto the board till most of it reached the center. I flipped it back over onto a non stick cake board and smoothed it out. If someone has a better method, please share.

Box:
I covered the sides of the cake with fondant. Again I have to add that the sides sagged on the drive to the party. Just a warning and it is still bothering me. I laid a piece of fondant on the top forming it around the balls and then crinkling around the edges. I cut off any excess that I didn't like.

To make the stripes I just used the cutter/embosser wheel and then painted with silver dust mixed with vodka.

Lingerie
I purchased the mold at http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/gumpaste/beads.htm . It is the Flower Lace Border #44-1021. Hopefully I will have a chance to use it again because it was pricey. I felt like I had to have it. The bra is cut from the top part of the mold. The flower in the corner matches up with the flower in the center of the bra. I didn't want to see the seem so I added the flower in the center after it was done. You just form it around the ball and let it hang off the cake. Stick some paper towel under it so it is raised a bit. I made some straps using my clay gun. You can't see them but they are hanging down the back of the cake.

That is all I can think of so let me know if you still have questions,
Terri
