I"ve ordered some books that I've heard people here talk about, I got the Whimsical Bakehouse and Kerry Vincent's book.
I am in love and cannot wait to produce my own versions of these cakes!
I have recruited my son to help me reorganize my cake area over the Winter break and I am good to go!
I especially love the SHOES, since I am such a shoe hound myself..
I had to move from my previous residence when I fell in love with my walk in closet ...all the top shelves are covered with shoes, the floor and I have 2 shoe racks hanging inside and outside the door!
and I have flip flops in every color and pattern imaginable even with little kitten heels!
SO guess what I'm going to be busy doing as soon as I figure out if the "shoe lasts" that she makes is removed once the sole sets..lol
anyone out there that can answer my question before I figure it out...please do!
I haven't orderd those books but would love to. My problem is organization right now. All the books, magazines, pans, tips, icing colors..........the list is endless 
I have a great space to put things in but we just moved here in May. Haven't had time to get it all organized. Plus I just started instructing for Wilton.......now have a HUGE box of stuff that came UPS a couple weeks ago. It is still sitting in the box in my laundry room cause I don't know where to put it

I think me & Briansbaker need to come to your house to organize & throw away some shoes! Just so you have more space for cake things. What you say Christy? Do we need to go help her get rid of some shoes?

Nobody messes with my shoes! as soon as I get out of my school brogans I'm dusting them off, they all may be outdated by the time I get them out..lol
I may have to donate them so there WILL be more room for cake things..

I guess I missed something, this went from books to shoes! What shoes? What does this have to do with baking and decorating cakes? Are you telling me I have to have special shoes (and lots of them) to decorate cakes? Janice
Oh no sorry, it's that Kerry Vincent's book has the most amazing gumpaste shoes. She says she makes them for bridal keepsakes. When I saw them I fell in love with them since I'm such a shoe freak.
The shoes that I use in school are brogans, black, flat with lace up...not too feminine at all...
That's the joke...The things we sacrifice for our art...for me it was pretty shoes...which I now have to live vicariously and make pretty shoes out of gumpaste!
If you get a chance to ever lay your hands on the book before you buy it, you can see all the great techniques in the book...not just the gumpaste shoes!
