Just got an order for a wedding cake for next Friday evening(talk about waiting til the last minute!!) Anyway-she wants the bottom layer (it will be tiered not stacked) strawberry shortcakeish-I figured to do a pound cake with strawberried between the layers etc. but wanted to make sure this is the best route to go. Groom does not like icing so the top cake needs to be similar but I know can't freeze the fruit for next year-any ideas from anyone???

my cousin just used strawberry filling for their cake... but used actual strawberries for everything else....
