Ok, you are going to think I have totally lost it! After making the FD cake I can't get the red, now pink off my hands!!! My hubby washed the bags that the red was in & he can't get it off his hands either!!! What a pair we are!!! icon_lol.gif I used the Wilton red & no taste red both bottles!!! Because there so hard to get red. The cake supply store was out of red from Americolor & the other ones that mOuse told me about. We have washed & washed our hands & even filled the sink like we were going to wash dishes & scrubbed & scrubbed!! It didn't work!!!! It is turning pink so I guess it will wear off. Boy, my hubby is going to be picked on when he goes to work tomorrow!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

SO HOW DO I GET THE RED OFF MY HANDS???? Thank you!!

I think my hands have been just about every color of the rainbow one time or another. I use a mixture of bleach and water. It takes most of it off. I hope it works for your hubby's sake!

Hmm. I have never really had any of the colors stain my hands. I have found that for me, baby wipes help to take the color out of my hands.

Baby wipes work awesome for taking out color.
When I used to dye my hair red I would use baby wipes for cleaning up. It was really nice to use on my counters because if you spilled- wipe it up with a baby wipe and you could never tell I spilled red hair dye on a light colored counter icon_wink.gif
I don't color my hair anymore, back to dark brown for me, but I still like using baby wipes for a lot of stuff.

I wear non-powdered latex gloves when working with dye. The few times I've had it on my hands it has worn off by the next day.

You can usually get a big box of them from walmart or a medical supply place for really cheap.
They're great for a lot of things, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the kitty litter box, making hamburger patties, mixing up meatloaf (with your hands which is the fun way even if the meat's a little cold icon_wink.gif ), helping your husband work on the car.... like I said all kinds of stuff.

I've heard of using toothpaste, especially the whitening kind (the pumice in it is supposed to help). Also, someone told me they use a special soap that artists use to clean their hands. I'm not sure of the brand, but they should sell it at ACMoore or Michaels.

Well I'll be a monkies uncle!! icon_eek.gif I'm a volunteer Firelady, LOL... icon_lol.gif I have medical gloves in my van for when we go on EMS calls!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh, I think this cake decorating has fried my brain!!!!!!!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Thanks folks for the good advice!!

Oh,,, toothpaste also works for fire ant bites! You get bit by a fire ant & you put the toothpast on immediately & it will not swell or itch at all! For any of you that don't know what a fire ant is... it's a big, ugly, red ant that stings the FIRE out of you!! Seen mostly in the deep south!! That's why we call them fire ants! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
