I am needing a shark tales cake due the last week of October, and I'm pretty new at this. I'm trying for the reputation of, I can do what Wal-Mart can't. I want something different that will stand out, and I've got to get back with my friend to see which fish it is from that movie that her son is wanting. He called it a fish and not the shark, I'm guessing it's that one boy fish that likes the girl, OK so I've not actually sat down and watched it with my kids, I've just caught glimpses here and there. Any creative ideas for this?

I have seen it. It's such a cute movie!
Here is the link to the website about the movie. It sounds like he may want Oscar, in the middle on the home page. : )

Thanks. I was thinking of trying a BCT for the first time. Does anyone have a good picture?

There are three that stand out for me.... Oscar, his girlfriend and that puff fish boss of theirs (saw the movie, didn't care for it).

You can look online for shark tale coloring pages. I will attach a couple that I have bookmarked. You can do a buttercream transfer, the old pin prick (YUK) method or a kopykake transfer. If I were making the cake I would probably put some sugar, chocolate or fondant shells in groups of three or more here and there around the base. I can't wait to see what you come up with. That cake has so many possibilities!

Here is the other shark tale image I have bookmarked. I couldn't get 2 attached at the same time.

I think a FBCT would be your best bet. Easy and quick in my opinion. You could also pipe borders around the cake, add some "seaweed" on the base maybe. icon_smile.gif good luck!

Another idea I learned in Course one...which I had never tried but is a brilliant idea is to lay wax or parchment paper over a picture...(like what is posted above...) and use clear piping gel and trace the picture. You then turn that upside down on your cake...lightly press it to leave the design and lift the wax or parchment paper off....you'll have a perfect picture of what you traced. You can either use colored piping gel or fill in with tinted buttercream. It's really easy! Good luck!

Thanks sincerely for your input. I was truly stuck, and I have been to Wal-Mart and the Dollar stores and can't find a Shark Tales coloring book or story book anywhere, and of course the kids DVD ended up missing about the time I was wanting to use it. Thanks again I have some Ideas now.
