I've been asked by a friend to make a baby shower cake. She has asked for Whipped Cream icing which I have never made. Does anyone have a recipe they would mind sharing. Can you Decorate the same with Whipped Cream as buttercream. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hi cakesbyg, Though Wipped Cream Icing is yummy!, there will be certain things that you wouldn't want to use it for like Roses or Bows. I know there are alot of good recipes on this site and sure someone will offer one, but you can find some in the recipe section. I have used the bettercreme that you can buy at food stores like Gordons, and it does taste yummy but "melts" fast and won't take dark colors. I would suggest to "practice" with some ideas before you make it. What doesn't your friend like about buttercream? Because there are some many different recipes you might be able to find one that will work. Don't stress I know you'll get your answers here!

Hi Vitade, Thanks for the great advise. I will definitely check out the recipe section. My friend is under this misguided perception that more people like whipped cream. She told me I can do anything I want for a boy but to keep it basic. So I will be sure not to include any roses or bows.

If you get stuck on ideas, you should do a search for baby boy, baby showers or add a post asking for some ideas. Make sure you do show us all what you come up with.
